Well, we’ve certainly had some BIG news about Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently.
We’re pretty excited about the new villains show coming to the park; however, the biggest news we received recently is all about the upcoming Monsters, Inc. land. Disney recently revealed the location for this land, and yes, that means we’re saying goodbye to the Muppets Courtyard (but hello to a Muppets-themed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster). But Disney also made another hidden announcement about Hollywood Studios: another new show is coming to the park.
Disney recently revealed new details about the Monsters, Inc., land, but mentioned something that you might have actually missed. Yes, there will be a suspended roller coaster — a first for Disney — that will recreate the door vault scene from the first Monsters, Inc. film, BUT Disney also revealed the new land would have new dining and shopping.
And wait! There’s more! Because Disney’s announcement also revealed that this land would have a “whole new theater show.” Now, this is something that Disney had not revealed before. So we now know this land will feature a new attraction AND a new show.
Of course, Disney did not reveal any details about this show. There’s already one Monsters, Inc. show over in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom, though: Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. We’ll be curious to see if Laugh Floor somehow gets reimagined and moves over to Hollywood Studios, but as Disney was adamant about mentioning a “new” show, who knows?
We’ll just have to wait and see what Disney has in store for this new land. In the meantime, we’ll be keeping an eye out for more Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

Disney sure does not want me to visit Disney IP Land (HS). All that is left for me to visit on a part day there would be Star Tours, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (wife’s choice, not mine), Stunt Spectacular. Oh well, just means more time in the other three parks. Or, if my wife gets her way, us visiting other places that are not theme parks.
