EPCOT is filled with tons of iconic, classic attractions, but one of them is well-known because the ride is truly like no other (well, besides the one in Disneyland, but we’re talking non-Disney theme parks, specifically).
Despite being around since 2005, Soarin’ remains quite popular with guests, but there have been a few updates the ride has sorely needed for a while. Well, Disney listened! We’re happy to report that one of those updates is complete, along with an additional one we weren’t expecting!
If you’ve ridden Soarin’ any time in the past nearly 20 years (and did not sit in the middle row), you likely noticed that in the Paris scene, the Eiffel Tower curves HEAVILY to the side. If you sit in the middle, you might not notice the lean, but since the screen isn’t totally straight and flat like a normal movie screen, the Eiffel Tower looked more like the Leaning Tower of Pisa for a long time.
However, that’s been fixed! We rode Soarin’ recently and were seated in Section C, Row 1, furthest to one side, and noticed that the Eiffel Tower didn’t lean anymore!
Also, the final scene surprised us with something new — the footage has been updated to show EPCOT in its current, transformed state. This means that you see the new (although it’s not very new anymore) entryway with the fountain instead of the old nostalgic one. You may also notice the sidewalk is lit up, but currently, that effect seems to be broken. We’re hoping that since the light-up sidewalk is officially part of the ride, Disney will (eventually) fix this.
Some guests may miss the old ending, as it means we’ll no longer get to see the EPCOT many of us experienced in our childhoods or young adult years, but others who never got to experience the old entrance may find this refreshing.

Just back from Disney and went on Soaring. It is amazing. We’ve rode it several times over the years. It is one of our favorites.
Would like to comment on the new cabins at ft wilderness.
As a family of 4 adults, we did not like them. We kept the curtains closed as the windows are open for anyone to look in. The window over the sink looks directly into the next cabin for all to see. We asked several neighbors and they agreed. So many things were wrong. Whoever decided to make such drastic changes needs to be fired!!

I don’t think Soarin’ over the World has been around 20 years. I think maybe Soarin’ has been there 20 years but a lot of that was Soarin’ over California (which I prefer).

They need to replace the Taj Mahal scene considering it’s entirely CGI. There’s an endless number of amazing places around the world to include in which an entire CGI location could have been avoided.

I agree with the cabins. The outside is quite modern. Doesn’t fit in with the campgrounds. They used to theme everything so not a good move
