Disney will unveil a brand-new take on a classic EPCOT ride in 2025!
In June 2024, Test Track closed to be reimagined as a new, third version of the ride. The new iteration of the attraction will take inspiration from its predecessor, World of Motion, and is currently scheduled to debut in 2025. And, if that isn’t enough to get you hyped for the revamp, there are also 6 BIG additions coming to Test Track 3.0!
During the D23 fan event, Disney revealed more details about the Test Track retheme. They said Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Chevrolet to “push innovation forward and celebrate humanity’s enduring drive on the thrilling road to a brighter tomorrow.”
The ride will include new show scenes that showcase technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone.
But guests will actually get to experience six (!!) new additions before they even get to the ride itself!
Disney also announced that the queue will feature six exhibits. Each room will celebrate both the vehicles and the people behind them that innovate and help take people to the next chapter in our motion journey.
We love hearing about these additions to the queue because it reminds us of some of the old-school “edutainment” that EPCOT was once known for. If you’re also nostalgic for “old EPCOT,” the rethemed Test Track might be right up your alley when it opens!
We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more news about the Test Track retheme — including an exact opening date — so keep an eye on DFB for all the info you need to plan your trip to Disney World in 2025 and beyond!

Will the new attraction be wheelchair accessible like world of motion was?

It is a mistake to go backwards to old World of Motion. This has to move ahead to what is of interest to today’s teens. They are the future consumers of Disney. They care about Guardians of the Galaxy. I know because I took my grandchildren, ages 15 and 16. Focus planning on what appeals to the 18-29 age group.

I am cautiously optimistic that Disney will once again raise the bar to a new frontier that no one could. These Track the Factory was that, and more as you were educated and then whisked away to wonder…Classic Disney Sortytelling at its best. I can only hope that Disney will breake the mold on this re-do nd boldly go where no attraction has gone before. We need some old world, Epcot imagineering, not another dark spin and puke ride.
