One day of Thanksgiving turkey is never enough, if you ask me. And that’s why we’re thrilled to be back at American Holiday Table!
American Holiday Table is one of the Holiday Kitchens (also known as Food Booths) at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. Even though there is SO MUCH to do at the Festival (like take a Cookie Stroll, check out the Candlelight Processional, listen to the Holiday Storytellers around the park, and more), we hope you’ll take a moment to gather ’round American Holiday Table with us!
Menu
American Holiday Table serves up traditional Thanksgiving flavors from its spot in The American Adventure Pavilion… and more! Returning favorites here include the Slow-roasted Turkey and Blackened Catfish, and this is also where you can find the SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie.
A Beer Flight is also up for grabs, featuring Bah HOPbug IPA by Crooked Can Brewing Company, Eggnog White Porter by 3 Daughters Brewing, and the Peppermint Chocolate Stout by Playalinda Brewing Co. You may also order any of the beers individually.
Grab a fork — and a Flight! — and let’s dig in!
Eats
If you didn’t get your fill of turkey with all the trimmings over Thanksgiving, then we have good news for you: the Slow-roasted Turkey is back this year for $6.25.
Accompanied with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce, the Slow-roasted Turkey is a mini-Thanksgiving feast that you don’t have to share with anyone! GENIUS! This dish often ends up on our Best of the Fest list with good reason.
Now, if you’re not one who is okay with your food items touching, this might not be the dish for you since you do tend to get a bit of everything in one bite. But if you are looking for a great Thanksgiving-style meal, this is a great choice.
The turkey was cooked really well, and the cranberry sauce was the perfect combination of sweet and tart. The stuffing was light and spongy, and the green beans burst in your mouth. It is really everything you could want for a mini-Thanksgiving, and this is something we could get over and over again.
The Blackened Catfish with Hoppin’ John and Comeback Sauce has… well, it’s come back. 😉 It costs $6.75. And guess what? Last year, this one made our Best of the Fest list, too!
And it’s back and just as good as ever. The salmon is SO tender and soft, you don’t even need to cut it. It isn’t as spicy as it has been in past years, but that might just depend on who the chef is. The beans have a great texture against the rice.
Everything comes together really well in this dish. The flavors taste very lively, and all the spices are fantastic. We also really enjoyed the greens and thought they really helped bring the whole dish together.
The SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie (which is, of course, made with SNICKERS bar pieces) returns to the Festival this year for $3.25.
We thought this cookie was pretty amazing. Not only is it a combination of two great things: Snickerdoodle and Snickers, but it is also executed really well. The cookie is warm and gooey, with a chewy texture and lots of chocolatey goodness. It is also a bit crunchy, but in the best way possible.
Keep in mind that if you’re participating in the Holiday Cookie Stroll, this one is eligible for a stamp, so have your Passport handy when your order it!
Drinks
What better way to try every brew at this booth than with the Beer Flight ($10.25)? This allows you to try the Bah HOPbug IPA by Crooked Can Brewing Company (priced at $5.75 for a 6-ounce pour), the Eggnog White Porter by 3 Daughters Brewing ($5.75 for a 6-ounce pour), and the Peppermint Chocolate Stout by Playalinda Brewing Co. ($5.75 for a 6-ounce pour).
The Bah HOPbug IPA is certainly aptly named for its hops. If you are a fan of hoppy IPAs then you will likely enjoy this one! There is a sweetness hiding behind the hops and it’s nice and light. It’s an easy beer to sip and enjoy.
We would recommend leaving the Peppermint Chocolate Stout for last on this flight. It’s hearty and very rich, as a good stout should be. The peppermint flavor that comes through is a nice touch if you enjoy a good holiday peppermint treat… presented in a unique way!
Alas, the Eggnog White Porter is our least favorite of the three on the flight. The eggnog is a hard flavor to pull out in the heavier beer.
If you’re looking for a lighter option, we would suggest the IPA over this. If beer isn’t really your thing, you can also grab some wine at American Holiday Table. There is a Regional White Wine ($7.50) and a Regional Red Wine ($6.75) available.
OVERALL
We think this booth is a hit! The Blackened Catfish was wonderful and definitely one of our favorite dishes of the Festival. The Slow-Roasted Turkey is the perfect mini-Thanksgiving meal and all of the components were cooked so well. The SNICKERS-Doodle Cookie was also a homerun, and the gooey and chewy cookie was delicious. The beer flight has some unique beers included, and while the Eggnog White Porter wasn’t our favorite, we still like the selection.
