Yes, we’ve been celebrating the holiday season since November 1st, but now that Thanksgiving is out of the way, we’re ready to put our hearts and souls into the celebration.
That means eating even MORE holiday snacks in Disney World (obviously), as well as continuing to enjoy the holiday decorations, gingerbread displays, and more! Then there are TWO holiday parties: Jollywood Nights and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. However, we’ve got big plans to stay at home on December 1st because something EPIC is happening on our TVs on that date: the Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular.
Disney’s annual holiday spectacular is filmed in Magic Kingdom in November every year and usually features a star-studded list of celebrities with musical and dance performances and more. This year’s spectacular, though, is a little EXTRA and features performances by Elton John, John Legend, Leslie Odom, Jr., Seth MacFarlane and Liz Gillies, Anika Noni Rose, Ava Max, Carly Pearce, Auliʻi Cravalho, SEVENTEEN and Pentatonix.
If that isn’t enough to make you want to watch, Kristen Bell (aka the voice of Anna in the Frozen movies) narrates the show this year, telling the story of how Disney “makes ‘The Happiest Place on Earth’ even happier,” and “’The Most Magical Place on Earth’ even more magical.” The show is hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, “who guide viewers on a starlit journey through Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Resort in California and Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii.”
Here’s the full list of performances you’ll get to see:
- Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro – “Deck the Halls” / “Holly Jolly Christmas”
- Auliʻi Cravalho – “Beyond” from Moana 2
- Elton John – “Your Song”
- John Legend – “Always Come Back” / “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
- Seth MacFarlane and Liz Gillies – “White Christmas”
- Ava Max – “O Holy Night” / “1 Wish”
- Leslie Odom, Jr. and the Imani Milele Choir – “Little Drummer Boy”
- Carly Pearce – “Let It Snow”
- Pentatonix – “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”
- Anika Noni Rose – “Milele” from Mufasa: The Lion King
- SEVENTEEN – “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
So be sure to tune in to ABC on December 1st at 8PM ET or stream the next day on Hulu and Disney+. And stay tuned to DFB for more.
