It’s hard to miss the AMC Theater in Disney Springs since it’s such a big building, but did you know this isn’t just any normal AMC Theater?
Well, it can be, but there are also theaters here that offer a unique experience that allows you to eat an actual meal (not just snacks and an Icee, although you can do that too) while watching a movie! It’s called the Dine-In Experience at the AMC Theater in Disney Springs, and while there are many of them all over the country, many guests visiting Disney World may have never seen an experience like this before. If you find yourself on a longer Disney World trip and have some time, here’s how you can experience this for yourself!
There are over 20 different theaters at the AMC location in Disney Springs, and a few of them are reserved for Dine-In experiences. These are smaller theaters with 2-6-2 seating configurations with often less than half the rows a normal theater has to make this truly a more sought-after experience.
There are two lobby entrances at this AMC Theater — one for regular concessions and film experiences, where you can get popcorn, candy, Icees, and more, and the Dine-In lobby entrance, which is where we went for ours. When you scan your ticket and enter the lobby, you can head straight over to the kiosks to order your meal.
Before you checkout, you’ll see a message pop up that tells you your food will be brought to you if you’re in a Dine-In Theater. If you’re in a regular theatre, you can order from these kiosks as well, but a message will pop up instructing you to go over to the Dine-In Pick-Up window to the left of the kiosks and pick up your food before heading to your theater. This takes about 15-20 minutes, so you’ll want to be sure you arrive at the theater plenty early if you’d like to do this option.
In the theater, our food took about 15-20 minutes to be brought to us. There are tons of different options on the menu, but we grabbed two of the most popular dishes. Our Chicken Quesadilla was $18.99 and was alright — it tasted different than what we expected a chicken quesadilla to taste like, so while we wouldn’t get it again, it was okay.
We also got the Chicken Tenders for $19.49, and these were fantastic! The breading is so thick and crispy, and the chicken on the inside was fantastic as well. We love the curly fries it comes with, as well as the three different dipping sauces (ketchup, honey mustard, and ranch) and the two pieces of pretzel bread. We’d get these over and over and over again.
Overall, while the food here won’t knock your socks off, you’re really coming here for the experience of dining while watching a movie on the big screen, so we certainly think it’s worth it if you’ve got a half-day in Disney World and don’t want to pay for park admission, or it’s a rainy day and you want to do something different on a longer trip.
