Disney has been VERY busy recently with announcements concerning the theme parks.
Earlier this year, we learned about a new Avatar land and Coco ride coming to Disneyland, along with an expansion to Avengers Campus. Disney World is getting a Villains show, a Monsters, Inc. land, a Tropical Americas-themed land, two new Cars rides, and a Villains land, among other things. Well, recently, Disney started dropping some opening timelines for some of the new things coming to Disney World — and we couldn’t be more excited.
So let’s get to all the opening timelines (and one closing timeline) Disney recently revealed for Disney World.
Spaceship Earth Lounge
The Spaceship Earth Lounge coming to EPCOT was first announced at this year’s big D23 event. Although we don’t yet know where the lounge will be located, Disney promised fantastic views of the World Celebration gardens, as well as a “unique perspective of the nightly fireworks.” The interior will take inspiration from Spaceship Earth’s design.
So when can we expect to be chilling inside the Spaceship Earth Lounge? Disney revealed the lounge is set to open in late spring 2025. That’s not far away AT ALL!

Test Track
We are getting so PUMPED for the new version of Test Track, although Disney hasn’t really dropped a lot of details about what the reimagined ride might be like. But we do know that it will have a new storyline built around “a joy ride through scenes focusing on onboard technology, customization and personalization. Followed by a trip through a scenic outdoor route reminding us all of the joys of driving, taking in the world around us and spending quality time with friends and family.”
Disney did reveal, though, that the NEW version of Test Track will open in late summer 2025. We previously only knew it would open next year, so now we have a general idea of when we’ll be able to ride it.

Dinosaur
Okay, so we know that Dinosaur will eventually have to close to make way for a new attraction and Tropical Americas-themed land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that will take over Dinoland, U.S.A. Disney has previously announced that the re-theming of Dinoland will be done in phases and that Dinosaur will still be available to ride, at least for a little while.
Well, now, we know when Dinosaur will officially close, and the good news is you’ll have a lot of time to ride it before it does. Disney officially announced that “2025 is your year to visit it before it goes extinct!” So if you’re wanting to “get that dino” one more time, you’ll need to do so before the end of 2025.

Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge
We are almost TOO stoked about the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge coming to Magic Kingdom. The lounge will welcome guests of all ages with a variety of food and drinks plus Disney has promised some “magical surprises.” Well, now we know when we’ll be able to rub elbows with fellow Pirates fans in this lounge.
Disney revealed that the Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge will officially open its doors in late 2025. That means we probably still have another year to wait, and WE HATE THAT, but we’ll keep an eye out for more details.

We’re excited to finally have some idea of when these new things will open in Disney World. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more big announcements, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
