There are lots of transportation options for you to use while at Disney World.
The Monorail can take you between the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), Magic Kingdom, Magic Kingdom Resorts, and EPCOT. Buses run from all four parks, the water parks, Disney Springs, and hotels. And there’s the popular Skyliner that runs between several hotels, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. But you can also catch rideshare vehicles, including the cute Minnie Vans. While the Monorail, buses, and Skyliner are free options, sometimes paying for a ride share vehicle might be worth it. But there’s one thing about the Minnie Vans that you never knew before!
The Minnie Vans at Disney World are an option offered through the Lyft app. They are adorably themed ride options that are dressed up like Minnie Mouse! They work the same way as any Lyft ride option, just within Disney World only, but it’s a specific option you must select when reserving a Lyft in the app.
To use a Minnie Van, you can follow these three easy steps:
- Open the Lyft app while visiting Walt Disney World Resort and enter your destination.
- Confirm your pickup location and tap “Select Minnie Van.” If the Minnie Van service doesn’t immediately display, scroll through vehicle type options until it appears.
- Track your vehicle on a map provided by the app. You’ll also see the vehicle number to help you spot your car.
Up to two car seats are included in the price of the Minnie Van for kids under the age of 6 years old.
The times of availability vary for the Minnie Vans because these cute vehicles need their beauty rest to stay as bright and chipper as Minnie Mouse herself. So, where do these adorable vans go to get their rest? You might be surprised to learn that their “bedroom” isn’t as far away as you might think!
If you visit Disney Springs, you’ll find a parking lot at the back of the shopping and dining district that you can walk to from Saratoga Springs. This lot is the Strawberry Lot, and it used to be used for general parking at Disney Springs. However, it is now closed to guests, and instead, you’ll find every variation of Minnie Van taking their much-deserved break.
These vans and their drivers work hard to take people where they need to go all around Disney World, so we’re glad to see these “Minnies” get the “sleep” they deserve.
The Strawberry Lot is also right next to the West Side rideshare drop-off and the West Side bus stop. If you need to catch a ride share or are getting off by one, you may find yourself in this area of Disney Springs. Next time you’re there, take a peek at all the resting Minnie Vans!
There are lots of fun, hidden details like this one at Disney World! You never know what you might stumble across while you’re exploring the parks and resort. Keep your eyes open for anything that might pop up while you’re visiting, and keep following DFB for more tips and tricks!
