We go to Disney World all the time, and that means we’ve gotten pretty good at knowing what to pack in our park bags.
Winter, early summer, summer, or summer part II (because let’s be honest, there are definitely NOT four seasons in Orlando), we’re ready for the weather, the crowds, and any other park conditions we may need to be prepared for. But we have to level with you — people are going to judge you if you bring certain things with you on vacation.
Reusable Straws
Starting off our list of items people will judge you for, we’ve got to talk about those reusable straws! We’re big fans of packing these in our park bags because nearly everywhere you go in Disney World has paper straws (unless it’s a third-party location that offers something like agave straws). You may feel dorky whipping out that reusable straw to stick in your Starbucks cup, but trust us, you’ll be grateful when it doesn’t dissolve after half an hour. Plus, if you buy this kit from Amazon, it comes with carrying cases and cleaning tools to match.
Reusable Utensils
In a similar vein, pulling out your reusable utensil set can earn you some strange looks while you’re in the parks, but they can be a huge help, especially during EPCOT festivals. No need to constantly be on the hunt for a utensil dispenser that’s properly stocked or to have to constantly remember to grab utensils for everyone in your party at a quick service restaurant. Keep a set of these in your bag and you’ll be ready to snack all day long!

Neck Fans
We know, we know, neck fans can look SUPER dorky. But sometimes when it’s 100 degrees and 80% humidity in Disney World, you stop caring about how you look and just care about getting cool any way possible. These are a great hands-free way to keep some air flow on your face, and they become a pretty popular park bag staple during the summertime. Just remember to wear your hair up so it doesn’t snag in the motor!
Reusable Snack Bags
If you’re like us, you’re probably eating a LOT of snacks in the parks. And occasionally, you can’t stomach the entire cookie (or whatever your treat of choice is). In those times, we like to be prepared with reusable snack bags. People often look at us weird because we’re prepared for leftovers, but then we get to enjoy our favorite treats at the end of the day in our hotel room, and what do they have? ZIP, ZILCH, NADA. Savor those snacks and get you some reusable snack bags!

An Alarm Clock/Sound Machine
Hotel rooms can be obnoxiously loud, especially if you’re in a main building or you’re trying to bring little ones back to nap midday. That’s why we like to pack our own sound machine, and this one doubles as an alarm clock. If you use a sound machine at home, this can be a peaceful way to make sleeping in an unfamiliar bed more relaxing.

Bath Bombs/Shower Steamers
Are we weird for bringing bath bombs or shower steamers to a theme park vacation? Maybe. But when you’re on your fourth day and everything hurts, it’s nice to have a little something-something to help you relax when you’re doing that end-of-the-night shower. It can be a challenge to unwind after a busy park day, and these lavender shower steamers will get you nice and chill before bedtime.
Sweatshirts
This one may seem strange, but sometimes we get odd looks for bringing sweatshirts into the parks, especially when the weather is nice and toasty midday. People underestimate how cold it can get in Disney World at night during the winter, and having a jacket on hand makes a huge difference. Trust us, if you just go ahead and pack one, you’ll save yourself the cost and headache of having to buy a sweatshirt in a gift shop.

So there you have it — the items that people may judge you for bringing to Disney World, but you’ll be thankful that you had in your suitcase! Trust us, we’ve done this a lot. We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop with any more packing tips, so stay tuned to DFB.
