Slinky Dog Dash is one of the most beloved attractions in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and for good reason!
It’s adorable, thrilling (but not too thrilling), and perfect for riders of all ages. But let’s face it, sometimes the ride experience leaves a little something to be desired. With that in mind, we’ve dreamed up a few new “rules” for the ride that we think could make the experience even more magical, especially for Disney adults. Let’s dive in!
Okay, so before you run to the comments section, let’s be clear: These aren’t actual rules, but wouldn’t it be amazing if they were? Disney’s Hollywood Studios is full of magic, but anyone who’s ever waited in the queue for Slinky Dog Dash knows there’s room for some extra pixie dust, and that’s why we’re having a bit of fun dreaming up some new “rules” for the ride.
If You Ride in the Front, You Deserve a Do-Over
Here’s the deal: The front row is a trap. Sure, it’s great for the view of the track ahead, but once you crest that first hill, good luck seeing literally anything else. The front car may as well come with a blindfold because all you’re going to see is Slinky’s back, and not exactly in a cute, Instagram-worthy way.
What we’re proposing is that if you ride in the front row, you’re entitled to an automatic second ride, no questions asked. Think of it as a little bonus for taking one for the team. Plus, you deserve a proper chance to enjoy the ride’s twists, turns, and Toy Story Land views without the canine obstruction.
Mandatory Trivia at Boarding
If you think that you’re the ultimate Toy Story fan, this is your chance to prove it. Before boarding, riders should have to answer a Toy Story trivia question (correctly, of course). It’s time to separate the casual fans from the true Pixar die-hards.
We’re not saying you have to recite all of Woody’s Roundup backstory from memory, but maybe answer a question like, “What’s the name of Andy’s neighbor?” (Spoiler: it’s Sid.) If you miss your question, to the back of the line you go. Just kidding. All, you’d have to wait for the next train. It’s all in good fun, but it’s also a great way to pass the time and add a little extra Toy Story magic to the experience.
Priority Boarding for Anyone Dressed as a Toy Story Character
Have you ever seen a Disneybound Buzz Lightyear patiently waiting in line and thought, They deserve better? Us too. That’s why we’re proposing priority boarding for anyone who puts in the effort to dress as a Toy Story character. Whether you’re fully decked out as Jessie or rocking a subtle Disneybound inspired by Bo Peep, this rule is a shoutout to all the Disney adults who make the parks a more colorful and creative place.
Let’s reward that effort with a little Toy Story Land VIP treatment. That doesn’t seem too much to ask, right?
Free Slinky Toys for the First Ten Riders of the Day
Who doesn’t love a free souvenir? To add a little extra incentive for the early birds, we think the first ten riders of the day should get a free Slinky Dog toy. Yes, this will probably cause chaos at rope drop. Yes, we fully support it.
Can you imagine the bragging rights of not only being one of the first to ride Slinky Dog Dash but also walking away with an actual slinky toy? It’s the kind of fun, playful touch that Disney is known for, and we’re here for it.
Silent Trains for Introverts
Sometimes, you just need a moment of peace, even in the most magical place on Earth. Enter: the Silent Train. Every third ride vehicle could be designated as a “quiet car” where talking, shouting, and screaming are politely discouraged.
Think of it as a sensory-friendly option for those who want to enjoy the ride without the extra noise. Whether you’re an introvert in need of a break or just someone who prefers a little quiet time, the Silent Train would be a game-changer. (And yes, we know this one is wildly unrealistic, but we can dream, right?)
There you have it, our totally unofficial, 100% wishful thinking “rules” for Slinky Dog Dash. We’re not saying Disney will ever adopt these ideas, but hey, who knows? So, what do you think? Are these rules brilliant or completely bananas? Got your own dream ideas for improving Slinky Dog Dash? Let us know in the comments down below.
