While we had to say goodbye to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for at least a year as it closes for refurbishment, and Astro Orbiter and the Hall of Presidents will also be closing later this month, it isn’t all bad news coming out of Magic Kingdom.
With the holidays being over, Lightning Lane prices have started to decrease and the Main Street Barkery debuted some new Starbucks menu items. But there is even more good news that we wanted to share!
Some of the best news to come out of Magic Kingdom this month is that on select evenings, you can watch not one but TWO fireworks shows! And the best part? They are two different fireworks shows! Disney After Hours has officially returned to Magic Kingdom in 2025, and on event nights, Magic Kingdom will be showing BOTH the Happily Ever After fireworks and the Disney Enchantment fireworks.
Day guests can view the Happily Ever After fireworks, and then the Disney Enchantment fireworks will take place during the Disney After Hours Event. Disney After Hours are limited-capacity events that allow attendees to enjoy the theme parks with fewer crowds. In addition to Magic Kingdom, there are After Hours events at EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The event will allow you to enjoy shorter wait times, complimentary snacks, and the option to shop and dine at select locations.
On nights with After Hours at Magic Kingdom, the park will show two different fireworks shows. This is perfect for anyone who can’t make it out to Disney a lot, or haven’t seen the Disney Enchantment fireworks show. Happily Ever After is Magic Kingdom’s current fireworks show. The Disney Enchantment fireworks show debuted for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Now, they can only be seen as an exclusive offering, and one of these times is during Disney After Hours. While the Disney Enchantment show isn’t our favorite show, it is still beautiful and lots of fun!
If you are attending After Hours at Magic Kingdom, you can arrive at the park as early as 7 PM, with the event officially kicking off at 10 PM. The event lasts until 1 AM, so you can get up to 6 hours in Magic Kingdom with your event ticket. If you arrive at 7 PM, you may be able to catch Happily Ever After AND Disney Enchantment all in one evening.
Even better, you don’t need to purchase an event ticket to enjoy the fireworks shows! You can also view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from surrounding hotels including great views from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. You can also see the fireworks from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, but they don’t have as good of a view. We highly recommend making a dinner reservation at one of these hotels or utilizing Disney Transportation to get to the hotel.
