There have been a LOT of Spider-Man iterations over the years. Maybe you liked Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, or maybe you were a fan of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. Most recently, Tom Holland has stepped up to take on the role, and there was even an EPIC crossover event with ALL THREE characters at once. Our minds were collectively BLOWN. We love ya, Peter Parker!
But do you want to know who CLEARLY has something against Spider-Man and his friends? The people behind this $139 Spider-Man set at Target. Every so often, we browse the Target website to see what kind of NEW merchandise is available for Disney and Marvel fans, and we were BAFFLED by this item.
Spider-Man: No Way Home Marvel Legends 6-Inch Action Figures Case of 6
At first glance, this set of Spider-Man action figures looks pretty normal, right? But the longer we stare into those eyes, the more we start to feel a little…uneasy. Why does everyone look so SAD?! We will say that they TOTALLY nailed Tom Holland’s face. It looks just like the actor! But some of the others…😬
Let’s look at poor Zendaya for a moment. This figurine does NOT do her — or her character — justice.
And then we get to Andrew Garfield. Can we talk about Andrew Garfield? Look at his face! They did him DIRTY. His Spider-Man action figure looks haggard, and are those dark circles under his eyes?! What did they do to you, sir?!
Over on the left, the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man looks pretty darn realistic, too. But, again, why so SERIOUS?! Are they posing for a passport photo or something?!
OK, thank you for letting us get that off our chest. We feel better now. And, despite the harsh words, this is a pretty cool set for collectors, so if you’re willing to pay the $139 price tag, we can’t even blame you. We collect Disney pins, Loungefly bags, and Funko Pop! figures, so we’re in no position to judge.
In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Marvel souvenirs, so stay tuned for more.
