So Disney made a lot of MASSIVE announcements in 2024, especially about the parks.
We learned about all kinds of new lands and rides coming to Disney World and Disneyland. Now, we don’t have a LOT of details on many of these projects, but we expect to find out more soon, as well as learn more about Disney’s financial state, as a whole. That’s because Disney is hosting its Q1 2025 earnings call on February 5th — and we expect to get some BIG announcements during that call.
So here are some of the announcements we expect Disney to drop during the earnings call on February 5th, 2025.
Disney World Construction Updates
So we have opening timelines for many of Disney’s big projects, including things that are expected to open in the spring and summer of 2025, which really isn’t that far away. So we expect to get exact dates for the first performance of Disney Starlight, Magic Kingdom’s new nighttime parade, as well as the new Spaceship Earth lounge coming to EPCOT.
We also expect to get specific opening dates for Disney Villains: Unhappily Ever After, a new show coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as the new Little Mermaid show, The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure.
We also hope to get more details about all the OTHER new stuff coming to Disney World (SO MUCH NEW STUFF, y’all). We’re expecting to get more details about the Cars expansion and Villains land coming to Magic Kingdom, the Monsters, Inc. land coming to Hollywood Studios, and Pueblo Esperanza, the new land that will take over Dinoland, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Speaking of Dinoland, we previously learned that we would be able to ride Dinosaur at least through 2025. However, we’re hoping we get an exact closing date for that ride and the complete closure of the land as it gets converted to its new theme.

Disneyland Construction Updates
Likewise, we’ve recently had a lot of big Disneyland announcements, too, without any opening timelines. So we expect to get some more specific details and opening timelines for the Avengers Campus expansion that will bring two new rides to the land, as well as the new Coco ride.
Disneyland is also set to get a new Avatar-themed land, so we’re hoping we also get some more details and an opening timeline for that.
Everything That Will Be CLOSED in Disneyland in 2025
Disney+ and Streaming
One of the things that will certainly be discussed during the earnings call is Disney’s streaming services. We’ll get revenue and subscriber numbers for Disney+, as well as for Hulu and ESPN+. We may even get an announcement about a price increase for the services later in the year (but here’s hoping not!). But one thing we’ll be looking for is more details about the Disney’s Hulu+ Live TV and Fubo merger that just recently happened.
We also expect to learn more about why Disney decided NOT to go through with its controversial sports streaming subscription service, Venu, which would’ve brought sports content from Fox, ESPN, and Warner Bros. Discovery in one app.

Todd says
DFB seems a bit unrealistic in expecting so many park announcements from a quarterly earnings call. Earnings calls are more about prior quarter financial performance than providing dates for future park projects. I would expect much more discussion on the streaming side of things as opposed to park announcements.
