Astro Orbiter is now closed for refurbishment in Magic Kingdom.
The ride officially closed on January 13th for maintenance, and it will once again open later this year.
Magic Kingdom saw another ride closure as Astro Orbiter closed for a lengthy refurbishment. The ride joins Big Thunder Mountain in closing. Disney hasn’t given a specific opening date for Astro Orbiter, but they have mentioned it will reopen sometime in the summer of 2025.
There are currently construction walls up around the ride that you’ll notice if you ride the PeopleMover.
It is likely this refurbishment will include routine maintenance that Disney conducts on its rides from time to time to keep them working smoothly and properly.
Astro Orbiter is a ride that takes you way up in the sky; you may feel like you’re blasting off into outer space. It’s a family-friendly ride that people of all ages enjoy. However, if you’re looking for some fun in Tomorrowland while it’s closed, you’ll want to check out the PeopleMover, Space Mountain, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Tomorrowland Speedway, or Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.
We’ll be on the lookout for any updates on an opening date! In the meantime, keep following DFB for more Disney news.
