There is A LOT of construction going on at Disney World. Construction walls are up by Astro Orbiter, a portion of DinoLand is now closed as work begins on Pueblo Esperanza, and Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is closed and blocked off as Disney prepares to debut Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After.
And that is only the tip of the iceberg! There is even more construction going on at the parks, as well as numerous hotels at Disney World. You will even spot construction going on for a brand-new Disney World hotel.
Construction has been ongoing at the site of Disney Lakeshore Lodge. This new Disney Vacation Club hotel isn’t expected to open until 2027, but crews have been hard at work!
We were able to see some aerial photos captured in early January by @bioreconstruct on X that showed how much progress has already been made on the new hotel.
We recently took a boat ride by the construction on our way to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and we were able to grab a few photos of the construction.
While Disney hasn’t shared too much information about the new hotel, we still enjoy taking a look at the progress. There are LOTS of cranes at the construction site, although you can’t see much of the progress from the water.
It is in the early stages of construction for Disney Lakeshore Lodge, so there isn’t much vertical height yet. However, they are working on laying the groundwork for Disney World’s new hotel.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge will be located near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. It will be occupying the former home of Disney’s River Country water park.
We will be keeping an eye on the construction progress, so make sure to stay tuned to DFB for updates as well as all your Disney World news!
