Could the Power Rangers be making their return to Disney?
You may remember (or wonder if you made it up in your head) that the Power Rangers used to meet at Hollywood Studios. While the Power Rangers may have left the park in 2010, there are currently talks to bring a live-action Power Rangers series to Disney+! Here is what we know so far!
According to a report from The Wrap, “showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz (who are also the showrunners for the Diney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians) are in talks to write, showrun and produce a live-action Power Rangers series for Disney+ and 20th Century TV.”
This report states that Hasbro will produce the series. If you are unfamiliar with the Power Rangers, they originally debuted on a TV show in the ’90s called Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, which took inspiration from the TV show Super Sentai. The Power Rangers are known for their bright-colored costumes and masks. The franchise was so popular that the Power Rangers eventually got their own film series.
We wonder if this news means that the Power Rangers could return to Hollywood Studios once again. We will just have to wait and see! As previously mentioned, they are only in the beginning stages of getting the show greenlit, so we will be on the lookout for any more news regarding the Power Rangers’ future.
