There has been a fun update for refillable mugs in Disney World!
For Disney World, refillable mugs can be found at the Resort hotels, and you can purchase one to use for the length of your stay, or get one included per person with your Dining Plan. You’ll only be able to refill these mugs at the Disney Resorts, but if you drink a lot of soda or other fountain drinks, it can be worth the cost very quickly. One problem though — with many of the designs looking the same…how do you tell whose mug is whose?
If your whole family ends up with the same refillable mug design, then Disney has created a solution to differentiate between cups — these new handle accessories! We spotted them at Everything Pop Shopping & Dining.
They’re little character-themed inserts you can attach to the handle of your refillable mug, and there are several different designs so that each person in your party can have a different one. “Which mug is mine? Oh! It’s the one with Buzz Lightyear on the handle!” See how easy the problem was to solve?
The downside? These little beauties cost $4.99 each, and that’s on top of the cost of your refillable mug (which are currently $22.99 a piece). So for a family of four, you could be spending an extra $20 just to customize your mugs.
But if your kid has a favorite character and you want to keep them from drinking out of your cup, this could be a helpful tool! When we stopped by, they had Jessie, Buzz, and Woody from Toy Story…
…Joy from Inside Out…
…and Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. What other characters would you like to see them add? (Personally, I’m jonesing for Winnie the Pooh and friends or Lightning McQueen.)
We’ll keep you in the loop if we spot more of these or if there is any other refillable mug news! And of course, if you’re using the Disney Dining Plan on your upcoming trip and need some help, we’re here with all the tips. The Disney Dining Plan sounds simple…until you start trying to compare prices and decide where to use those credits. If you want a shortcut (and who doesn’t love a shortcut?), our Disney Dining Plan Guide breaks down how to get the most value so you can focus on more important things (like how many Spirit Jerseys you can fit in your suitcase).

Another gotta have but done need trinket from Disney…. lol
Or you know you could save $20 for a family of 4 and use a sharpie and put a name on the cups…. I have a couple of GMA cups in my cabinet. Just saying….
Cool idea but I don’t like the character choices. My grandson would love the Toy Story ones though. Not big into Monsters.
Or swap the lids. Yours is the green lid with the red handle.
We only get them if we have a meal plan. We don’t spend enough time in the resort to make it worth it. Resorts have free water and ice, so we fill up our Owalas or Corkcicles before going to the parks.
