This isn’t Antarctica. We’re not dealing with subzero temperatures or anything, but hey, it’s COLD in Disney World right now! *Cue incredulous laughter from the North* Even in Central Florida, you can experience temperatures in the low 40s — and even 30s — from time to time. So, what do a bunch of Florida locals do when it gets chilly in Disney World? Well, we do something you would NEVER expect.
What’s the last thing you feel like doing when it’s snowing outside? Jumping in a cold shower? Walking around in shorts? Eating a bowl of ice cream? Surprise! Even when it’s freezing cold outside, the DFB team is eating frozen treats. But there’s a method to our madness!
We go to Disney World EVERY DAY, and we’re letting you in on one of our secrets. Yes, it’s COLD in Disney World this week, and that means it’s the perfect time for us to get frozen treats. Yes, that sounds SUPER weird, but hear us out.
When we buy a Dole Whip (or a Mickey Bar, or an All-American Sundae), our first step is NOT to dig in. We need to take photos and videos of those treats to bring to you. (You’re welcome!) And, as you might imagine, that’s hard to do most days in Florida. So, while most people are looking for hot coffee and hot chocolate, you’ll find us in the nonexistent line at Aloha Isle for a cup of Pineapple Dole Whip — because we have a few extra precious minutes before it melts.
For comparison, here’s a photo of what happens to our Dole Whip on a hot day. Mind you, this was taken pretty much right after we paid for our treat. In fact, we started snapping photos before we even found a table!
Even by MARCH, it starts getting warm in Disney World, as you can see from our half-melted Dole Whip Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl. We never said this was easy, people.
So, while we don’t love bundling up on a visit to the Magic Kingdom, at least we have some pretty new snack photos to admire! Ooh la la!
If you see us enjoying a frozen treat in the middle of winter…don’t judge, OK? As you can see, there’s no such thing as an uneventful day around here! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
