As Downtown Disney continues to transform into Disney Springs, we’ve learned of a new restaurant slated for this dining, shopping, and entertainment district in Walt Disney World.
Paperwork was filed in Orange County for a permit on two connected venues — the old 8Trax and Mannequin’s clubs on Pleasure Island. According to the permit, a new restaurant owned by the Patina Restaurant Group will take over this space. Plans include “two floors, a new dining area, kitchen [and] cast and guest restrooms.”
This space is pretty large, so we’re wondering if there will be more than just a restaurant? Fingers crossed for more entertainment to come back to Pleasure Island!
Based in Los Angeles, the Patina Restaurant Group already runs two restaurants at Walt Disney World — Via Napoli and Tutto Italia in Epcot’s Italy pavilion, plus Tutto Gusto!
They also run the table-service Naples Restaurant and the counter-service Napolini in Disneyland Resort.
We’ll continue to watch for further updates!

Wow first the news about The Hanger being built next to Paradisio 37 and now this new restaurant next to Maniquins looks like The Springs is really happening.
Nicole says
Wow, this looks very promising! We have eaten at 3/5 of their Disney restaurants (Via Napoli which is one of our favorites in The World, Tutto Gusto, and Naples), and were impressed at all 3. Do we think they’ll go Italian, like the rest of their Disney restaurants? Because that would compete with Portobello’s, then.
Javier says
There should be a La Cava del Tequila!!!!
AJ says
Jrriddle — Yes!
Nicole — As far as I know, most of their concepts are Italian. However, this might be more than just food, so we’ll see!
Jen says
They also own Tortilla Joe’s at DTD Disneyland. We ate there last week and had a really good meal!
Jennifer says
They also run Catal and UVA bar in Downtown Disney Anaheim. This restaurant is two stories and in includes an outside bar adjacent to the main building. The food is fabulous.

Nice!! I am psyched about this whole Disney Springs thing, I can’t wait for Marketplace Co Op to open!!
Kate says
Patina also runs Tortilla Joes, Catal and Uva bar in DTD at Disneyland.
Diane says
I would love to see BabyCakes return to Downtown Disney. They offered the best gluten free baked goods!
Jenn says
A Catal/Uva clone would be marvelous!
Jan says
I have to say I am not a fan of Tutto Italia. I’ve eaten there 3 times now and have consistently felt the food was pretty average and the prices too high. I hope this new restaurant at Disney Springs will be better.
Bill says
I’d like to see an adults only dining venue, nothing against children but it’s nice to be able to enjoy a little time away from them….
Susan says
Since Kouzzina’s is leaving Boardwalk, I would like Cat Cora to open something there. We also thought tbat P F Chang’s bistro Pei Wei would do well there.
Jan says
We loved Catal/UVA Bar at Downtown Disney in California. Hope this is similar!
Chris Arnini says
Very excited especially if it is like Via Napoli which is amazing. Been there a couple times even with my little ones and they went the extra mile not to mention the food was amazing.
Jamie Vidamour says
There’s been a number of stories this week about new restaurants going into the Disney springs concept.
Luckily so far they have all been around original concepts as opposed to just versions of existing restaurants or even worse, existing chains.

coming from the greater ny area i sincere[y hope that another italian restuarant is not in the works. we’ve got one on every other block. disney will hike the prices beyond the roof and think we will think its something special. enough ! b..ring back kouzzina

Try Trattoria Al Forno on the Boardwalk. I’ve been there several times and it’s my favorite.
