A new premium culinary experience — the Family Culinary Adventure — is coming to Walt Disney World, and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members now have an early opportunity to book the first dates. Learn some tricks of the trade from Disney Chefs!
Guests and all members of their families ages 9 and up can enjoy a “backstage culinary adventure.” During the experience, participants will prepare a meal from beginning to end with Disney chefs. Once you and your family finish cooking duty, you’ll sit down and enjoy the meal that you’ve helped create — with a little input from Disney Chefs!
The backstage experience will be opened to all guests, but DVC members are being given the first

This is such a fun addition to the activities offered at Disney World. I’ve been thinking for a long time that they needed a behind the scenes family cooking experience, so I can’t wait to hear reviews!
Get your Chef Hats ready! Disney Food Blog will update readers once this new culinary experience is available to all Disney World guests.

I love this. I think, though I don’t recall, that I said in an earlier post this kind of thing would also be a perfect Downtown Disney experience as a food establishment that also holds cooking classes fits the new “Town Center” area perfectly.

That is so true, GG! I think this sounds like a really fun concept, and it would be a great way for Disney Springs to really feel more “local” in a way. And I think any time that you’re hands-on with something like this, you take so much more away from it.

I am so there!

At this price point, why not just go to the parks? $175 per person! Not for our family!

Don’t think I’m willing to pay $175 for dinner that I have to cook myself. Oh , who am I kidding? I wouldn’t pay $175 for a dinner somebody else cooked. 😉

I love the idea, but for a family of 4 with teens that’s $700 dollars! Way out of our budget!

Love the idea, but paying $350 for my husband and myself would be too much for our budget!

I am a single, self employed mom who has been a DVC member for several years now. I love Disney! One of the things I love about them most, is that they are always changing things up to keep it fresh. I absolutely LOVE the idea of cooking with a Disney chef! My son is 13 & after wanting to be a Zoologist for many years, after teaching him how to cook last summer, he told me, “mom, I think I might like to be a chef.” I think he’d be really good at it. I see the pride he takes when helping prepare meals with me. So I got the idea to check out cooking with a Disney chef when we come down this winter. But my excitement quickly turned to huge disappointment when I found out the cost would be $175 per person! As much as I love Disney, the one thing I’ve always hated, is the fact that EVERYTHING is sooooo sooooo expensive! Most people are not millionaires. Most normal, hard working people live on a tight budget, such as myself. I typically have to save for a year, to two years when vacationing with my son. Just once, I wish something at Disney was priced reasonably. Attainable for more than just the uber rich. Soooo bummed. 🙁

I love it and it has been a long time coming. I believe Disney had something simular to this back in the 1980’s at the old stomping grounds at the old Downtown Disney area. I would sign up in a minute but I would have to see the content. Is it more content and less context, hands on, learn something new….I am there.
