The 2015 Epcot Food and Wine Festival is less than a month away!
The big day is September 25 – that’s the beginning of seven weeks of incredible food and drinks in Epcot! And this year marks the Festival’s 20th anniversary so you know it’s going to be something special.
This year’s Culinary Demonstrations, Beverage and Mixology Seminars promise something for everyone; but, the food and drinks at the Marketplace Booths are what we’re most excited about.
Today we’re going to showcase two booths – one of which hasn’t been at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival since 2007! We’re talking about fan-favorite Brazil, which returned to the festival in 2013 and the Dominican Republic, which is making a return after several years away from the festival!
Dominican Republic Marketplace Booth
The Dominican Republic has been on hiatus since 2007 but is returning to the festival and we can’t wait to try all the dishes from this Caribbean island nation!
The booth used will be the brand new-last-year booth that was created for Puerto Rico. With PR not returning to the festival this year, DR will take over that booth and location!
2015 Dominican Republic Marketplace Booth Menu
- Lechon Asado: Roasted Pork with Mangu, Pickled Red Onions and Avocado
- Souffle de Yuca: Yuca Souffle topped with Griddled Cheese
- Pescado con Coco: Seared Grouper, Pigeon Peas and Rice, and Coconut Sauce
- Caramel Flan with Roasted Pineapple
- Presidente Beer
- Frozen Dominican Pina Colada Featuring Don Barcelo Blanco Rum
- Frozen Sugar Cane Cocktail Featuring Don Barcelo Blanco Rum
The Dominican Republic will feature all-new dishes including the Pescado con Coco, with Seared Grouper, Pigeon Peas and Rice, and Coconut Sauce.
I’m looking forward to trying that Souffle de Yuca.
Brazil Marketplace Booth
returned to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival in 2013 and we’re happy to see it back again for 2015! I got a chance to try the Escondidinho at a preview and I was very impressed!
2015 Brazil Marketplace Booth Menu
- Escondidinho de Carne “Little Hidden One”: Layered Meat Pie with Mash Yucca
- Crispy Pork Belly with Black Beans and Tomato
- Pao de Queijo – Brazilian cheese bread
- Cocada – Brazilian coconut candy
- Kaiser Brewery Xingu Black Beer
- Carnaval Moscato Sparkling White Wine
- Frozen Caipirinha featuring Leblon Cachaça
The Pao de Queijo – Brazilian cheese bread – was a hit last year and we are excited to see it back on the menu again for this year.
Last year the Crispy Pork Belly with Black Beans and Tomato also featured avocado, but this year’s version might be missing that component. Either way, I still think it will be a hit like it was last year.
You’ll want to make sure to save room for dessert in Brazil because the Cocada – Brazilian Coconut Candy is super yum.
And we can’t forget about the beverages! Brazil is serving up Kaiser Brewery Xingu Black Beer, Carnaval Moscato Sparkling White Wine, and the Frozen Caipirinha featuring Leblon Cachaça.
Beer is always a good choice, but on those hot Food and Wine Festival days nothing beats a Frozen Caipirinha from Brazil. This is one of our all-time favorite festival drinks!
Or maybe you prefer a bubbly glass of Carnaval Moscato Sparkling White Wine!
