Did you know, did you know? We love some Disney snacks around here. 🙂
And part of the reason that we love them so much is that we know that you do, too! In fact, I’m 100% confident that I could spend an entire vacation in the ‘World and sustain myself on snacks alone.
And that’s why I dedicate a lot of real estate in the DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining to offering you pictures and details about snacks in all four corners of Walt Disney World.
And if that’s not enough for you, I’ve also written guides dedicated to the snacks in each Park as well as special events happening throughout the year — which, believe it or not, usher forth their own seasonally-themed treats. You can discover it all in our DFB Guide Everything Bundle.
But more about that in a minute. Right now, let’s look at one of my favorite lists: Must-Eat Snacks in Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. The list comes to you courtesy of the DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining. And if you like what you see, check out our DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining 2018 Second Edition. With more than 650 pages of information, we leave no Disney Food topic uncovered!
But let’s get back to that list. 🙂 Time to check ’em out!
Magic Cookie Bar
There are many foods to capture my attention when I’m spending time at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Whispering Canyon Cafe is famous for its all you care to enjoy skillets and platters anytime of day. (Check out our breakfast and dinner reviews.) And Territory Lounge is one of my favorite spots in the Disney Universe for a friendly chat over delicious Pub Grub.
But if you’re looking for a quick dessert, try their Magic Cookie Bar at Roaring Fork.
Layers of Chocolate Chips, Nuts, and Coconut come together for a decadent bar cookie that’s big enough to share! If you want to, that is. And yep — we know that for part of 2017, Roaring Fork is under renovation. Bookmark this and keep it for when they reopen. In the meantime, you can also find the treat sometimes at other Disney locations, like Port Orleans Riverside and Beach Club Marketplace.
Beignets
It used to be that to enjoy most of our favorite Disney beignets, you’d have to head to Disneyland. But now this delicious fried treat is available at Walt Disney World! Plan a visit to Port Orleans French Quarter, and when you get there, head over to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, the resort’s counter service stop, for deliciously fresh Beignets.
They’re the perfect quick breakfast with a cup of coffee, or try them with dipping sauces or as part of a sundae!
Zebra Domes
While you’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you should totally make time (and room on your plate) for a Zebra Dome. Or four. 🙂
The little Mousse Domes are flavored with creamy and distinct Amarula Liqueur. You’ll find unlimited quantities of these gorgeous gems at Boma, the resort’s buffet dining experience. One bite, and you’ll know why they’re #OnTheList of DFB Favorites!
But you can enjoy this tip without the advance dining reservation — and in a four-pack! Just head to The Mara to pick up your to go container. (Wanna try them at home? Check out our Zebra Dome recipe!)
No Way Jose Sundae
There are tons of ways to enjoy Ice Cream around Walt Disney World. But one sundae holds the top spot for me — and that’s the No Way Jose at Beaches and Cream.
This stunner has it all: Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream, Hot fudge and Peanut Butter Sauce(!!!!!!!), plus Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chips. Crowned with more Whipped Cream than you can shake a stick at, the Cherry on top is, well. A Cherry.
There’s a reason this one made the cover of our guide for years. It’s outstanding.
Bananas Foster Bread Pudding
at the Polynesian Village Resort is, in a word, AMAZING. To be honest, it’s probably my favorite part of a meal at ‘Ohana. (For dinner, anyway.)
The bread pudding itself is lovely. But what makes it is the sauce. In fact, I hear angels singing every time I pour that thick, rich caramel sauce over the top of the dessert. (I’d turn up my sound right about now if I were you.)
See what I mean?
Normally you wouldn’t need an ‘Ohana reservation in order to enjoy this treat, because nearby Tambu Lounge was serving up single-servings of ‘Ohana Bread Pudding right up until the start of its current renovation. But we hope it will return to Tambu when the lounge reopens!
King Cupcake Whoopie Pie
The King Cupcake from Pop Century Resort’s Everything Pop Food Court has been a favorite treat of mine since the first time I tried it. It’s one of our #OnTheList favorites!
But Disney…well, they do like to change things up a bit. And who can blame them? So these days, you’ll find all the same flavors in a brand new classic, the King Whoopie Pie! (We should have suspected as much. Suddenly, Mini Whoopie Pies seem to be all the craze at Disney like never before.)
Is it all still there? Well, mostly. We miss the Banana Custard Center, but it’s been replaced with Peanut Butter Fluff. So…can I really complain? Sandwiched between rounds of dark Chocolate Cake and crowned with Peanut Butter Icing, it’s finished off with Candied Bacon Bits, Chocolate Drizzle, and the only Banana presence in the dessert, a Dried Banana Chip.
So don’t be too blue if you miss the cupcake. Because the King 2.0 is something pretty special as well.
Spikey Pineapple
We dreamed about it for years and Disney finally made it happen — a grown-up version of that snack cult favorite, the Dole Whip. Find the Spikey Pineapple only at the Tiki Terrace, the separate, outside bar at the Polynesian Village Resort, adjacent to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. The drink is an exclusive there!
While I’ve enjoyed Dole Whip (or more accurately, “Pineapple Soft Serve”) with a pour-over of rum during both the Flower and Garden Festival and the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot as well as at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs, this one is a little different. It’s a mix of Barbancourt Pango Rhum blended smooth with the soft serve. Kinda like a Pineapple Smoothie. Except waaaaaay better.
Peanut Butter Pie
If you’ve spent any time with me at all, you know that Peanut Butter tops the list of my favorites. So if a treat involves peanut butter, chances are I’m gonna love it.
I thought I had seen it all. But then, the Contempo Cafe introduced this thing of beauty: Peanut Butter Pie.
What a deceptively simple name that is! Because this, my friends, is a must have. Rich and thick Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Filling, Vanilla Cream, and a Vanilla Crust, all drizzled with Chocolate. The Contemporary Pastry team created an instant classic with this one, and I hope it never goes away.
