Well, it looks like Disneyland Hotel isn’t the only Disney resort getting a new Afternoon Tea! Beginning this month, Disney World’s Beach Club will host Afternoon Tea at Solarium Gardens on select dates throughout the year in the resort’s beautiful Crescent Solarium.
Dates currently available for booking are February 11- 14, February 18-21, March 24-29, May 5 – 8, June 16-19, and September 1 – 5, 2016.
EDITOR’S UPDATE: Please note that since this article was published, more dates have been added: April 14-17, May 5-8, July 1-4, and August 11-14.
Guests will be able to choose from three tea packages for adults, and one for children ages 3-9. The Sea Side Park Tea features four courses: a first course of Artisan cheese selections and seasonal accompaniments, followed by a second course of petit sandwiches along with canapés on house-made breads. Scones will then be served with clotted cream, lemon curd, and a seasonal jam, with the final course consisting of tea cookies and house-made pastries. All adult packages will include the guest’s choice of loose-leaf tea.
The Sandy Cove Tea includes the petit sandwiches and canapés on house-made breads for the first course, followed by the scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, and a seasonal jam along with tea cookies and house-made pastries. Again, your choice of loose-leaf tea is also included.
The Prince Cove Tea is the only package to feature a house-made charcuterie and cheese plate, which will be accompanied by the scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, and a seasonal jam as well as the tea cookies and house-made pastries. And, of course, your choice of loose-leaf tea.
Guests ages 3-9 can try the Short Sands Beach Tea, with a first course of assorted tea sandwiches followed by a scone with clotted cream, lemon curd, and a seasonal jam. Chocolate chip cookies complete the package, which is all enjoyed with “special dark tea” (otherwise known as “chocolate milk” 😉 ).
The Beach Club is one of the Epcot area resorts, just a short stroll away from World Showcase (from the International Gateway between the United Kingdom and France Pavilions). If Afternoon Tea sounds like a great respite from a busy park day, you can call (407) WDW-DINE to make an Advance Dining Reservation.
Would you like to enjoy Afternoon Tea in the Beach Club’s Solarium? Please let us know with a comment!

Do you have prices on this yet? We’re going in Oct, I wonder if this will stil be offered?
Wendy says
Hi, Julie! We don’t have pricing information just yet, but I would say that there might be possibilities for future dates to be added. Disney announced the listed dates as the ones that are currently available for booking, so if it meets with some success I think there may be possibility for additions. Hope you have a great time in October!

I’m a DVC member so we visit very often the WDW resort. Afternoon tea is one of the favorite activities. I wish it would be available all-year round.

It’s odd that they have picked just a few scattered dates to try it out. I totally would have supported this and tried the BC instead of grand flo this time. But they don’t offer my dates in March so I can’t. Ah well I hope it works out and becomes a refular thing for the future!!
Robyn says
We have booked this for the 5th of May. Can’t wait to try it out 🙂
Shayne says
Too bad it won’t be offered during our trip in July. I’ve always thought that Solarium was an underused space — glad to see they’re bringing something like this to our DVC home resort!

Strange location as this is a walk through area for many staying in the villas.

I think this is a wonderful alternative to tea at the Grand Floridian. The tea room at GF is very, very small. I would love to go!
Essie says
I would love to do this!
Brooke says
Essie — Me too! Isn’t it lovely?
Julie says
Thanks for the info Wendy. Hopefully they will offer it in oct but either way we will ha e a fabulous trip. Thanks

I realize this is a bit beside the main point (aka the food), but kudos to the Beach Club folks for serving afternoon tea on such pretty china instead of plain white china. Teapot included! It really makes the occasion just that much more special.

Was all excited, then deflated we miss it by 2 days

A friend and I enjoyed this lovely tea today. The food, which is all house made other than the cheeses, was truly memorable. Service was excellent and up to Disney standards with gracious and engaging staff who took quite a bit of time to share information about the food and the teas. The setting was comfortable and very pretty, although it is clear that the solarium was not designed as a stand alone restaurant setting. The prices quoted above are correct . Special congratulations on the quality of the tea sandwiches and the scones!

Shirley — Thank you so much for stopping by to share your experience with us! We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed it. 🙂

I have been to the afternoon tea at the beach club twice . Both times equally amazing . The staff was very friendly and welcoming . Explained the teas and menu items perfectly . So much detailed paid to each item on your plate . Everything was delicious . They had a special addition to the menu for valentines day that came with a pretty little box of truffles to take home . I have been to the Grand Floridian many times for tea and this tea is totally different . I actually prefer the scones at the beach club over the the grand . The food was prepared as ordered so your food did not sit around already plated waiting to be served . I did not feel rushed at all, great way to carve out a bit of time from a fast paced Disney vacation . No discounts at this time are accepted . I hope they make this event permanent .

A friend and I went to Tea at the Crescent Solarium over the weekend to see how it compared to the Grand Floridian. Here’s what we discovered.
PROS:
Cute decor
Good Service
Yummy nibbles
Interesting new tea flavors
CONS:
Not enough tables and chairs for dining comfortably
Acoustics were a bit odd
Took awhile to get our check
The service was top notch Disney quality. We thought it was fun that our server was actually from Britain, and was able to explain each of the teas in great detail and was able to give suggestions based on the intensity of each tea and how well it would pair with the dishes that we chose. Having said that, about halfway through, we lost him, and it took quite a bit of time for us to get our bill (we figured out after awhile that he was actually helping the other servers brew the various teas, which led us to believe he was some sort of tea sommelier). It was fine because we had nowhere else to be, but it was noticeable. I was a little disappointed that the china is not the same as it is in these photographs, but I forgot to ask our server about it. (Side note: if anyone knows the name of this pattern, PLEASE TELL ME. I adore it and would love to get some for myself at home). The food was just as yummy as that at GF, but the dishes were slightly different to the point where you didn’t feel like you were getting a recycled menu. The cheese and fruit platter is a MUST. I would also agree with an earlier poster that the space was definitely not originally designed as a stand-alone restaurant. Given the option, I would suggest possibly a reconfiguration of the furniture to allow for more dining tables and chairs. We were sat at a couch and chairs with a coffee table between us, which was a bit difficult to maneuver with some of the food. If we had just had tea and no nibbles, it would have been perfect. Overall we loved it, and the prices and food was definitely the same as GF (the various packages ranged from $30 – $45 per), but the ambiance was definitely more laid back.

Why can’t I find this anywhere on the Official Disney website or under the pages of the Beach Club Resort??

Just received email informing me that my reservation for September 5th has been canceled. Anyone else get this?

Does anyone who has tried this have any more reviews? I’m curious to see if it extends throughout Sept or beyond.
