Have you chosen your Special Events for the 2016 Epcot Food & Wine Festival?
Maybe you’ve had some interest in attending one of this year’s Rockin’ Burger Block Parties, but you’re not quite sure what the menu entails. Or perhaps you’ve already booked the first Block Party on September 30th, and are already excited to find out what kind of burgers you’ll be diving into!
Either way, we’ve got some info that may help (and if you need anything further, be sure to check out our review from the Rockin’ Burger Block Party we attended last year).
We’ve got the scoop on six of the seven Burgers that guests will be chomping into at the very first Rockin’ Burger Block Party on September 30th featuring Celebrity Chef Maneet Chuahan, who will be joined by Chefs from various Disney restaurants. (Remember, each of the three parties features a different Chef… AND different burgers!)
Maneet Chuahan will showcase her Indian-inspired Malai Chicken Mushroom Burger, while Chefs from STK Orlando will be serving up some of their lil’ BRGs made with Wagyu beef.
Raglan Road will offer a beer-battered burger! This one will be topped with garlic aioli, tomato chutney, and greens.
Here’s a beer battered burger we had at Raglan’s counter service spot — Cookes of Dublin — that we think is the inspiration for the Bash choice.
One of our favorite Disney spots to grab a burger – Beaches and Cream – will serve a Sunrise Burger: chorizo and candied Canadian bacon will be topped with an avocado spread, and then topped even further with a quail egg and sriracha mayo… all on an English Muffin.
And the newest burger joint on the Disney dining scene, D-Luxe Burger, will share classic Southern style with their beef burger topped with fried green tomato, pimento cheese, and Applewood-smoked bacon on a Parkerhouse roll. Here’s the “full-sized version” from D-Luxe Burger.
And though we don’t know the chef or restaurant behind the burger yet, we do know that a Pork Slider with aji amarillo chile slaw and avocado on brioche will be up for grabs, too.
Interested guests may book the Rockin’ Burger Block Party for $99, Reserved Seating for $119, and Nosh Pit Seating for $199. Learn more about the inclusions for each level and the Block Parties taking place on October 14th and November 11th by visiting our Food and Wine Festival Special Events page.
Part of the fun of the Rockin’ Burger Block Party is that guests get to vote for their favorite burger. Based solely on the descriptions so far, which one might get YOUR vote?

Remember when $99 got you a fabulous French Regional Lunch? My, times have changed. The beer batter burger looks pretty good.

I went last year and will be attending again on the 30th. Definitely going to try the Lil Brg. if you need any insight on that day I am willing to give some info.

We signed up for it the October
14 date based on the review from last year. While I think we will have a great evening the preview this year sounds a lot less adventurous than last year. This year seems more like an advertisement for existing menu items, vs letting the chefs pull out their best. The menu also sounds more extensive last year vs the 7 of 8 mentioned above.

My wife and I walked away from the event feeling exactly like Kelly stated above; that we were at a preview for existing menu items at restaurants on property. Not every burger presented is currently available, but given that we had previously eaten three of the selections (including the nights winner- DLuxe Southern), we were very disappointed compared with the choices in 2015. The mixed drink stations are absent this year, and although each burger station has paired wine and beer selections available, the removal of the liquor vendors and their concoctions was a mistake. Nosh pit seating still has an open bar, so at least we could order a drink, but as with the burgers, instead of getting to try something new and fun, we ordered our usual bar drinks. The crowd seemed much smaller than last year, and there were multiple empty spots in each section. There was a familiar feeling we get much too often these days at Disney; that everything was done at the lowest possible cost. We were given gift bags on the way out. One of the items was an apron. Now, I’m not an apron kinda dude, but a Food and Wine Festival apron, or even better a RBBP apron I would probably wear on occasion. Nope. A dull brown Adventures By Disney apron left over from some other promotion. A fitting end to a disappointing night. We will not attend next year.
