Okay, so there are PLENTY of changes happening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that you probably know about already. For instance, construction is underway for the future Toy Story and Star Wars Lands, and that’s resulted in the closure of several eateries around the park (most recently, we said goodbye to Writer’s Stop).
But you may not be aware of some of the more recent changes at the park. Perhaps you missed the announcement of an all-new holiday spectacular — Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! — which will debut on November 14th.
And did you know that the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame has officially closed? That was the area of bust sculptures dedicated to television stars and influencers of the medium like Oprah Winfrey, Lucille Ball, and Walt Disney himself, among others.
Well, a plan is already in place for the area, and it involves our favorite thing: FOOD! According to the Orlando Sentinel, a spokeswoman for Walt Disney World stated that the Academy area will be replaced with a food and beverage marketplace.
While it is anticipated that the area will be cleared by Thanksgiving, we’re not sure when the Marketplace will be ready. If it is to be a permanent offering for the park, construction could take some time. But it might be fun to see something akin to this past summer’s temporary Echo Lake Eats nearby in the meantime, as Hollywood Studios is sure to see some extra traffic when Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! begins next month. (NEXT! MONTH!! Can you believe it?!)
So, get ready for EVEN MORE changes — and even more FOOD! — on the way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
What kind of food would you like to see served in the upcoming spot? Please let us know with a comment!

We would love to see a make your own burger eatery. Burgers with or without cheese, served plain with a condiments bar with all the fixings. Perhaps some specialty fries, onion rings, sweet potatoe fries. In addition to cold salads, veggie cups with a dip and fruit cups. As for a name, that requires the Disney Magic.

Would love to see Taste Track’s grilled cheese sandwiches find a new home – but only if it’s going to be open more than a few days a year. Taste Track was excellent “destination dining” in the park but it was rarely open. And its out-of-the-way-yet-still-in-the-full-sun location didn’t help.
Haven’t given up hope that they’ll bring Disneyland-style fresh corn dogs to the WDW parks.
If these are deemed too labor intensive, then I’ll settle for bringing back the Jalapeno Cheese Pretzels.

Taco salad, I daydreamed about Pecos Bill’s menu.

I have a question about the Dining Plan snack points. I know that you can use snack points for the food booths during the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. But, this year, we’re going in early December for the first time in several years and now there are special holiday food booths at Epcot. Will we be able to use snack points?

Blair — It’s unclear yet whether any of the items will be available for a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit, but we think they will be. We should know more once the menus are actually up in the Parks. Stay tuned! 😀
