Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
A few changes have come to the menu at one of our favorite restaurants — and possibly yours, too — at the Magic Kingdom: Liberty Tree Tavern.
Liberty Tree Tavern is best known for its family-style All-You-Care-To-Eat, It’s-Pretty-Much-Thanksgiving-Year-Round dinner.
However, this Table Service spot serves lunch as well, though in an a la carte fashion, with popular choices that have included New England Pot Roast, Fish and Chips, and the much beloved — and quite aptly named — Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake.
And it’s the lunch menu in particular that is the recipient of the recent changes. The main one being that — while a la carte options DO still exist — the All-You-Care-To-Eat Patriot’s Platter is now an option for lunch time, too, in addition to dinner. Here’s a look at just the first portion of the newly updated lunch menu.
Lunch previously had a Thanksgiving-style option with the previous Pilgrim’s Feast, which featured Roast Turkey and Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, and a veggie. But it was not All-You-Care-To-Eat, and the Patriot’s Platter also features Sliced Prime Rib, Carved Pork Roast, and Mac and Cheese in addition to the previously mentioned items.
There are a few other changes to note, too, on the remaining a la carte lunch options.
The Entree list is a great deal shorter, and it appears that the New England Pot Roast is no longer an a la carte option on the lunch menu (MUCH to my chagrin). Thankfully, though, the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is safe. Whew!
And now we’re signing off from Liberty Square! But first, I’d like to ask… what do you think of this change to lunch at the Tavern?
Do you like the changes to the lunch options at Liberty Tree Tavern? Please let us know with a comment!
Hannah says
I’m quite disappointed with this change. My family has enjoyed going to the Liberty Tree for lunch and loved their vegetarian option which was a veggie burger of some sort that was different from the standard Disney World veggie patty. Do you know if this option will still be available off menu? We think the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is divine (we tried it because of your recommendation!), but we like going there for an entire meal as well.

I had heard this change was coming over a month ago and didn’t want to believe it. The pot roast has been one of my favorite menu items in all of Walt Disney World for so many years. I’m crushed that it is gone.
Kelly M says
Hi AJ. I just wondered something… Do you know if you can pay to have the Ooey Gooey… at dinner?
I am always keen to try it but when we have been we have always had dinner where its not a menu option.
Thanks!

So when I looked yesterday the Pot Roast is still listed on the children’s menu. That being so, could we still get it as an adult meal? Or have it added to the Patriots Platter? I NEED TO KNOW!!!
Tracy says
Any idea of the price and how it compares to dinner? This might be a better option for our family depending on the $$$
Cindy says
Not happy at all. We are not fans of All you care to eat options. This Platter is enough food for 3 people! We loved the Pot Roast. I don’t like to over stuff my self to justify the cost.
Another Disney restaurant I will not go back to.
Elisabeth L says
This is disappointing. We have lunch scheduled there next Sunday and were planning to split the pot roast and one other entree for lunch. (3 ladies and one 11 yr old girl) We are on the dining plan and will have 2 extra meal credits left and planned to split two large entrees for a mid-day meal! So not sure how the TS credits work on an “all you can eat” meal…

I’m really disappointed in this menu change. We would usually go for lunch to get the Pilgrim’s Feast for my husband and the Pot Roast for me. I didn’t want the ham. I didn’t want the green beans. I didn’t want the dessert. Just the potatoes with pot roast. Now I have to buy the whole thing, not eat most of it and pay a lot more. Or just knock this one of my list of must do places. There are fewer and fewer places that I really enjoy dining at any more at WDW.
Angelina says
All i can say is thank goodness i was able to have the pot roast before it was gone. I think it is terrible to only offer 4 entree choices on this menu particularly when they aren’t even inspiring options. Sad day for liberty tree tavern 🙁
DebC says
Just checked the Disney website and they don’t even have pot roast on the menu for lunch except as a child’s meal for $11.
Here is the Patriot’s Platter at lunch copied from the menu – Patriot’s Platter
Roasted Turkey Breast, Sliced Prime Rib, and Carved Pork Roast with Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, Herb Stuffing, and House-made Mac and Cheese

So sad !!!!!
The pot roast was the only reason we ate there it was delicious.
No reason to go back, going to cancel my reservation for December.
Why do they mess with a favorite?????
Bruce L says
No pot roast and no fish & chips? I think I’m canceling our ADR for our next trip.

Not at all happy. We liked it the way it was. Was so looking forward to going back since it was closed during our last trip. Not sure now. They really need to stop with the “all-you-care-to-eat” meals. Way too much food and money.
Sarah says
We’re cancelling our reservation for January 🙁 It is just not worth it while on the deluxe plan not that they took so many appetizers and entrees away.
Gisele says
So sad, the a la cart pot roast is one of the best things on the menu.. my husband’s absolute favorite.. We booked lunch in December at Liberty with intentions of ordering the pot roast.. now it won’t be the same.. disappointing..
Here’s hoping Disney will reconsider
Susan Chapman says
No Fish & Chips? I’m outta here
Kim lobdell says
Not happy about the missing pot roast! That is one of my favorite meals in all of wdw. Will probably skip LTT on our next trip.
Michelle says
Dislike! I liked the Pilgrim’s Feast the way it was, and the pot roast being gone? WHAT?! If I wanted the all-you-care-to-enjoy option instead of the options that were available at lunch, I’d just go to dinner! I LOVED the lunch menu! Way disappointed in this…
Lisa P says
WDW wants to make the food service easier and more cost effective for themselves here. They want to get more people in and out fast. They know people will come, no matter what. A shame, since this is our favorite lunch spot, but we won’t be returning with this menu.
Doug says
We just canceled our reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern, because they no longer have our favorite meal – the Pot Roast. And the $33 price for most of what’s left is ridiculous. My wife got the recipe for the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake, and we will have that at home.
Joni says
Hopefully they will realize this was a big mistake but then again we still don’t have OffKilter back so…..
The All you can eat idea killed the “Good Turn / Garden Grill for me as well
NENolan says
I look to be in the minority but I, for one, am excited to see the Patriot’s Platter being available for lunch. I wanted to do it for dinner but it just didn’t work so but now that it’s available for lunch that’s even better. Not sure about the Pot Roast as I’ve never had it and I’m not a big fan of Prime Rib but I do like Pork Roast so we’ll give it a try.
Ashley says
WHYYY would they get rid of the pot roast?! That was my favorite to order there….
Kimberly says
Well count me as another “This stinks” vote. I loved the Pilgrim’s Feast at lunch. The all-you-can-eat dinner doesn’t work for me; I can’t eat enough to justify the price. I used to go fairly regularly, but I won’t be going to Liberty Tree Tavern anymore.
Gayle says
We started going to lunch instead of dinner because we couldn’t eat enough to justify the all you can eat. Then we discovered the pot roast, only to have it now gone! We will be there just after Thanksgiving. We’re hesitantly keeping our lunch reservation and are preparing to remove this as an option in the future. (I am however happy to see dessert – & this new dessert – included.) However, this is pretty much the single restaurant we’ve visited on every trip since 1998. It would be a sad, heartfelt loss.
Pat says
We hate the changes. I loved the colony salad but can’t eat salmon. Why not a chicken option? My husband lived the pot roast and fish & chips. Why are these gone? The all you can eat platters are just way too much food at any meal but especially at lunch. How much food is thrown out from these meals?
TK says
I think this is fantastic! It is so much healthier and more logical to eat a large meal in the middle of the day rather than late in the evening, so having this family style option available earlier is wonderful!!!! My family went to Liberty Tree for the first time last week and absolutely loved the dinner, but it would have been nice to be able to schedule it earlier in the day. We probably would have eaten a very light breakfast and then had this meal as our lunch and dinner for the day. I’m vegan so I had a custom meal made for me to go with my family’s meal and it was an absolutely fabulous experience. There is something so special about being able to pass dishes around to each other, especially because I travel with family members who do not live with me so we very rarely have family meals together. I think this was such a smart move by Disney and can’t wait to make our reservation for our next trip!
Hilarie says
I ate at the Liberty Tree Tavern last week, and when I asked about the Pilgrim’s Feast, our server said I could still order a turkey dinner (or a pot roast dinner) even though it wasn’t on the menu. So I ordered the turkey dinner, and it was just as good as it ever was!
Gayle says
How much is the new Patriots Platter All You Can Eat Lunch?
Brooke says
Gayle and Colleen — The lunch price is $33 for adults and $19 for ages 3-9.
Samantha says
The first time my husband and I ate here was on our honeymoon, and it has been one of our favorite places to eat for lunch on every trip since then. I could have my turkey dinner, and he could choose from the many other options. I agree with many others who have already commented.. we have no interest in the all you can eat meal, and the few remaining entree options won’t please everyone in our family.
Jean says
We sat down to our lunch reservation on November 11, not having realized the menu had changed. Having had a wonderful lunch there on a previous trip, I expressed my disappointment in the selections to our server. He was able to offer me a pot roast lunch, even though it was not on the menu. It was delicious!
gayle boone says
We completely hate this change and have cancelled our reservations for this June. Two of our party are vegetarians, and now there is no real option. And the other two of us LOVED the Pilgrim’s Feast. Now this menu does not work for us—after 40 years! So very disappointed….
Eddie Brochu says
Is the lunch menu available during dinner hours?
Nikki H says
Ok we are going to be traveling during Thanksgiving week 2017 and we have book LTT for a late lunch. Can we share the Patriot’s Platter? My husband and I usually share and entrée and find that it is plenty for us.
Thanks!
Lori says
The Patriot Platter is made to be shared but you’ll be charged per person and they’ll bring you more than enough food for two. It’s a literal platter. It’s not the size or price of an ordinary entree. If only one of you orders it and the other one eats off of it, you’ll both be charged full price. It’s a ton of food and not a very good value for anyone who isn’t a big eater.
Lou says
This is GREAT, we’ve always loved the Thanksgiving Dinner and now they will have the full Thanksgiving Lunch. So many comments here complaining about the changes, which is also welcome news; less wait to get a table.
