Now that summer has officially (or unofficially?) begun, we all have one thing on our minds.
Grillin’!
And one of the most essential fresh-from-the-grill dishes is a juicy BURGER. Slap a piece of cheese on it and you’re there.
But what happens when one of our favorite Disney Springs counter service spots creates their own take on a meaty burger? Well, that’s when a little something called Cheeseburger Poutine is born at The Daily Poutine!
You already know poutine A) if you’re lucky enough to be Canadian or B) because we can’t stop talking about it 🙂 . Large cut French fries, squeaky cheese curds, and brown gravy. That’s the purist’s version, and it’s a thing of beauty.
But plenty of jazzed up versions show up around Disney World in spots like Le Cellier Steakhouse in Epcot’s Canada Pavilion, and — ever since around this time last year — The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs. And now — for the time being, at least — you can add Cheeseburger Poutine to the list, joining Italian, French, and Latin Poutine (and, of course, the Classic).
So, how does it play out? Well, first things first: all of the options at Daily Poutine come in these fairly large take-out bowls.
And while it at first glance it might seem like you’re not getting a whole lot for your mooooolah, the plentiful toppings make each version kind of huge and super filling. The Cheeseburger Poutine is no exception. The base of crispy-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside French fries are pretty well buried beneath the toppings on this one.
Those toppings are ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and house-made pickles (check out the freshly made, still-almost-cucumbers appearance!). And what’s any “burger” without condiments? Ketchup, mustard, and mayo. They’re all there.
So, what about that cheese? It’s a cheese double-whammy, folks: Fried Cheese Curds harken to the original poutine (only, HELLO!! They’re FRIED!) while a Beer Cheese Sauce (BEER. CHEESE. SAUCE.) tops the other ingredients.
That final touch is very welcome, in this particular case, because the ONLY change we would make to this dish is that it could, indeed, use MORE CHEESE. Sauce or curd — we don’t really care. Just MORE. Pretty please with beer cheese on top?
Otherwise, the combination of flavors is spot-on. You definitely get every cheeseburger flavor you want in every bite. And because it’s deconstructed and placed in a handy, shareable (if you want) bowl, you might even avoid a greasy wardrobe malfunction. (But even it you do drip a little of that beer cheese sauce down your front, it’ll be worth it.) If you’re interested, know this: Cheeseburger Poutine is currently considered a limited time offering, so be sure to grab it if you see it!
Happy Grilling Season, y’all!!

I had this yesterday and it.was.amazing!! Together the flavors were everything you’d hope for in a cheeseburger poutine. We also ordered the classic poutine and thing I like most about their dishes is that they add enough toppings to last you until the last fry. No dry fries in any forkful. I highly recommend the cheeseburger poutine!
