Happy New Year, Disney food friends! We’re thrilled to show a few new things we found over at the Wilderness Lodge. But first: that lobby! That TREE! It’s truly spectacular and worth a visit even if you’re not staying at the resort!
Meanwhile, over at Roaring Fork, you can find a Gingerbread Cupcake — with a Squirrel on it! C’mon. You know you want to eat that adorable squirrel. This is a seasonal offering, of course, so we’re not sure how much longer it will be available.
If you’re looking for comfort food, Roaring Fork has you covered there, too. They’re serving up Chicken and Waffles with a tasty-sounding Apple BBQ Sauce. Yum! Again, this is seasonal, and the cast members weren’t able to tell us how much longer it’d be available, so get on it! 😀
Our Instagram pal @buyul grabbed a pic of the Chicken and Waffles for us!
You can also order the Holiday Turkey Sandwich at Roaring Fork. It celebrates the season with stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce!
Remember, these Roaring Fork items are seasonal, so if you find yourself drawn to the Wilderness Lodge, we recommend you indulge in these yummy eats before they disappear into the wilderness!

I’d like to have one of those squirrel cupcakes, if only to eat the squirrel for revenge for all of my garden damages! LOL

Thank you for posting updates for the Wilderness Lodge! I will be staying there in a few weeks and hoping the Ginger Bread (Cute Squirrel) cupcake will still be available! 🙂

Happy New Year! We had the Holiday Turkey Sandwich on New Year’s Eve, and although in theory it sounded delicious, the “fresh roll” was so rock-hard it was completely un-bite-able. We ended up just eating the dry turkey and dressing inside; there was no gravy and what little cranberry sauce there was had missed and slid down the back of the rocky roll. We didn’t want to complain, but probably should have. We did love the fennel sausage, pepperoni and goat cheese flatbread, though. Also: Just a note for those who like to walk along the lakeside trail from Fort Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge: That pathway has been inexplicably blocked on the Wilderness Lodge end with a locked gate. After walking all that way in the dark and cold, we weren’t going to circle back and start over, so despite that we’re no spring chickens, we had to scale the fence. Thankfully, we weren’t arrested!
