If you’re planning to celebrate the holiday season at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom this year, we’ve got everything you need to make the most of this jolly holiday party!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special, extra-ticketed event held at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on select dates in November and December 2018. The party includes special entertainment, one-of-a-kind character meet-and-greets, and (of course!) lots of party-specific treats! So without further ado: your Ultimate Guide to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2018!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dates and Times
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will run on the following dates in 2018:
- November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 25, 27, 29, 30
- December 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21
Ticket prices vary throughout the run of the event, but start at $95 in advance or $105 at the gate (if still available). Guests may purchase tickets by calling (407) 939-1872. DFB TIP: Note that some guests, like Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members, may qualify for discounts.
The Party runs from 7PM to midnight — but guests with tickets to the party have typically been allowed into the park one to three hours earlier!
Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
If you’re attending the Party, you’ll definitely want to check out the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade! This fun and nostalgic parade travels through the park twice each night — at 8:30PM and at 11PM. DFB TIP: Typically the second parade is much less crowded than the first, which allows you to enjoy rides, attractions, or meet-and-greets during the first parade showing while a larger percentage of guests are on Main Street, U.S.A., and hanging out along the parade route.
Once Upon a Christmastime is a guest favorite, featuring all of your favorite characters, plus marching toy soldiers, Santa (of course!), and snow fall — yes! — all along Main Street!
Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
This festive stage show takes place on the Cinderella Castle stage at 7:40, 9:25, 10:30, and midnight every night. It’s full of cheerful Christmas tunes and your favorite characters in all their holiday glory! See Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and friends party like it’s Christmas morning!
A Frozen Holiday Wish
During this 8:15 presentation, Queen Elsa uses her powers to create — of course — a spectacular ice palace! This brilliant display of lights on Cinderella Castle glimmers throughout the party and provides a stunning centerpiece for the park. Elsa is joined by Princess Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff, who celebrate the Queen’s powers of ice and magic!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Character Meet-and-Greets
One of the most sought-after opportunities during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are unique character meet-and-greets. With more than fifteen characters (many in their holiday finest!), guests will line up for hours (no joke!) to meet such rare characters as the Seven Dwarfs and Jack Skellington (as Sandy Claws!). Guests can also meet the big guy: Santa himself!
DFB TIP: If you’ve got your heart set on meeting specific characters during the party, note that party guests start lining up at character spots even before the party begins. In fact, if you want to meet Jack Skellington or the Dwarfs without wasting precious party time, you’ll want to line up well before the characters are even set to emerge (1-2 hours before the party starts is not unheard of).
Also note that characters take a break about every twenty minutes — so stay in line even if you see them disappear. They’ll be back — and you’ll want to keep your spot to meet them!
Holiday Wishes Fireworks
Yup, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has its very own 360-degree fireworks show! And the Holiday Wishes Fireworks show is fabulous! Narrated by Jiminy Cricket, this pyrotechnic show features crazy fireworks and classic Christmas songs. DFB TIP: The best place to watch is right on Main Street, U.S.A., so you’ll want to prepare to be dazzled by the 10PM show!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Music and Dance Parties
Guests of the Party will find special entertainment throughout the night, including the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show (catch it at 7:40, 8:30, 9:20, 10:45, and 11:45!) and VoicePlay on the Rocket Plaza Stage (nightly at 8:05, 8:55, 10:15, and 11:10) in Tomorrowland — and Club Tinsel, an on-going raucous dance party at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe that even gets tired little partiers groovin’!
Main Street, U.S.A., Snow Fall
Missing the frozen white stuff from back home while you’re celebrating in warm central Florida? No worries! Throughout the night, snow will fall on Main Street, U.S.A., much to the delight of guests of all ages! You’ll definitely want to make time to enjoy the carefully calibrated precipitation. 😉 DFB TIP: Don’t catch those flakes on your tongue unless you’re okay with a soapy aftertaste!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Eats
Of course party guests will need to fuel their fun, and it’s easy to do with Free Party Eats like cookies, sno-cones, and pretzels, and Specialty Party Treats like yule logs, Red Velvet Mickey Waffles with Ice Cream, and a Sandy Claws Push Pop! (And if you can’t attend the party, there are some holiday eats available all day, including a festive Mickey Cinnamon Bun and a totally tasty Peppermint Cupcake!)
Look for Party Snack inflatable peppermint sticks to light your way to free eats all over the park, so even if you opt not to buy any party-specific specialty eats, you certainly won’t go hungry (or get low blood sugar…).
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party-Specific Merchandise
These are merchandise items available only during the Party and include Limited Edition items, Party-rific Tee Shirts, collectible Magic Bands, and Passholder-only items (be sure to show your Passholder ID!)!
Plan on hitting up the Emporium, Big Top Souvenirs, Mickey’s Star Traders, Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, Fantasy Faire, and Frontier Trading Post during the party to snag unique party gear! Keep in mind that items are available only while supplies last — so don’t wait if you spot something you love!

Here’s my complaint about this. If you don’t pay a lot extra for this event and go to Magic Kingdom on a normal day there is no feeling of Christmas at all. Just a normal day at the park. I’m sure this is a good event, but we’ll do Seaworld to get that Christmas cheer for NO extra charge.
Essie says
We had so much fun that I’d definitely go again! But, why would the passholder’s shirts look so nice and festive, while the regular party goer’s shirts were, wrinkled, worn looking, faded green that looked more like an old St. Pattys Day shirt?

When will the DFB Guide to the Walt Disney World Holidays 2018 e-Book be released. I pre-ordered and did receive the 2017 version – but really need the one for 2018 as that is when we will be visiting.
Thank you

Kathleen, last year’s book was sent out at the beginning of November. We would expect a similar timeline this year!
Brittany says
Hello,
Unfortunately, the only party I can make is the last night. What sort of wait times am I looking at for rides on this particular night? I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it or if it will be as crowded as it is during the day before the party.
Thank you!
DFB Sarah says
Brittany, they sell a limited number of tickets for the party, so it’ll probably be a full party, but it won’t be crazy crowded like Magic Kingdom is during the day that time of year.
