We found a bunch of changes in Animal Kingdom when we were there visiting. Check out what we found on our culinary safari of Disney’s Animal Kingdom this week!
We’ll start our tour out where we always to – on Discovery Island.
What’s New on Animal Kingdom’s Discovery Island
(Starbucks) is celebrating the first birthday of tiger cubs Jeda and Anala with a special cupcake featuring a photo of the pair.
This celebratory cupcake is topped with shaved coconut, caramel, buttercream, and crunchy pearls. The cupcake is $5.99 or Disney Dining Plan Snack eligible. It’s very limited time, though — and might not be there when you are!
What’s New in Animal Kingdom’s Pandora
After removing the Vegetable Curry Pod from the menu a weeks ago, Satu’li Canteen has added a Shrimp and Noodle Bowl to their menu.
If you’re waiting in line for Flight of Passage and are craving a snack or need a drink we spotted relief for you! We saw a snack cart selling bottled drinks, popcorn and chips in the queue for the ride.
What’s New in Animal Kingdom’s Africa
If you’ve experienced a humid, hot, Florida afternoon then you’ll be glad of this next update – Shave Ice is now available outside of Harambe Market.
Your flavor options are Mango Passionfruit, Watermelon, and Pina Colada. Plus, if you want to add a kick to your shaved ice you can add Vodka or Rum for a spiked version.
Of Note in Animal Kingdom’s Asia
OK – this is not new, but not only does it look good, it tastes delicious! Royal Anandapur Tea Company is where you’ll find this iced cinnamon roll of yumminess.
We also looked around for the Up Cake Push Pops that were introduced for the 20th Anniversary celebrations of Animal Kingdom and never left, but could not find them on this visit. We asked a cast member at Warung Outpost and she said they haven’t had them in stock for about a week, but she was not sure if the removal was long-term. As always, we’ll keep you posted!
What’s New in Animal Kingdom’s Dinoland USA
Trilo-Bites has made a few changes
to their menu. They are no longer serving the Strawberry Milkshake and the Buffalo Chicken Chips have a new look with fewer greens on top.
What’s New in Animal Kingdom Merchandise
We found all of this merchandise in Animal Kingdom, but it is also available in various locations around Walt Disney World – so keep your eyes peeled.
This mug for your morning coffee or afternoon tea will match whatever emotion your feeling! It features Anger, Fear, Disgust, Sadness, and of course Joy from Inside Out. Plus, that handle! It’s memory orbs!
This mug makes this trouble maker Stitch look downright adorable!
Now we won’t endlessly wander the parking lot looking for our car! Just add this red Mickey Balloon Antenna Topper to your car and you’ll find it easily!
And on to Halloween – an ornament to commemorate the Headless Horseman‘s ride through Magic Kingdom before the Boo to You Parade during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
To mark Dia des los Muertos and celebrate the movie Coco check out these Coco-inspired Minnie Mouse Ears.
That’s all from Animal Kingdom on this visit! As we say goodbye to Animal Kingdom we had to close with a picture of this guy who looks like he is ready to go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in his costume. Look at those fangs!

I’m so excited to see the shaved ice in Africa. Since Animal Kingdom is the hottest park at Walt Disney World, the shaved ice is a welcome addition to the snack lineup!
