According to wdwmagic.com, Mickey’s Backyard BBQ — a dinner show held at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds — will close at the end of the year.
And, in looking at the calendar for the show, this appears to be the case. Bookable dates on Disney World’s website (in blue on the calendar) currently display through December 31, 2018.
However, moving into January, the calendar offers no bookable dates.
The other dinner show at Fort Wilderness, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, is currently bookable well into next year in accordance with the standard 180-day booking window, so it seems the popular Revue is unaffected at this time.
Wdwmagic also shared that there may be plans for a similar BBQ experience at a later date and confirms that Disney has not made any announcements at this time. Word has it that the upcoming change is likely due to Disney Vacation Club additions to Fort Wilderness, but those additions are unconfirmed by Disney as of press time.

Oh no this was one of our favourite first time experiences in 2016 and was on the list for next year.

Wish Disney will reopen Mickey’s backyard bbq. We have gone 5 times and wanted to book again for aug 2019. Feel like hoop de doo and Polynesian laui is really not for younger children to keep there interest
