Halloween is in full swing at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom
, and during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, guests get to enjoy a special fireworks and projection show: HalloWishes! And for guests who want to plus-up their HalloWishes experience, there’s the HalloWishes Dessert Party!
Now you know I like a dessert party, having enjoyed the Happily Ever After Dessert Party — once for the before fireworks experience and once for the after party. And we’ve been getting a LOT of reader questions about the HalloWishes edition of the Magic Kingdom dessert party.
So while I didn’t attend the HalloWishes Dessert Party this year, I had to grab some pics for you! Luckily the cast members were kind enough to let me take a few shots! If you’re interested in my thoughts on the value of a Dessert Party in Magic Kingdom, you can watch our video on the topic here.
Note that the “bang for your buck” quotient of the HalloWishes dessert party is a little lower than it is for regular Happily Ever After dessert parties, since you’re paying an upcharge to attend MNSSHP in the first place…and the dessert party cuts into that Halloween party time! Plus, you can get many of these treats in their full-sized editions out in the park. So you’ll need to do the math to determine if attending the party, having all-you-can-eat treats, and locking in that VIP view of HalloWishes makes sense for you.
Here is a photo tour of the HalloWishes Dessert Party treats!
Most of them will look familiar because they’re smaller versions of the tasty treats we tried during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party back on its first night! First up: Worms ‘n Dirt! (This is basically chocolate pudding, chocolate cake crumbles, gummy worms, and a Master Gracey white chocolate tombstone!)
These are a familiar contribution to a Disney dessert party: Chocolate-Covered Strawberries! But in this case, they’re spookified with Halloween sprinkles.
You already know how I feel about this Poison Apple Cupcake. If not, peep the DFB Instagram!
Totally cute Oogie Boogie Meringues!
Madame Leota is back as a tart here as well (minus the cool crystal globe that you get when you purchase the full size edition at Liberty Square Market).
Jack Skellington‘s push-pop has been transformed into a cup. He’s just as skellington-y.
And some classic chocolate bark that’s ready for it’s Halloween close up!
Doom Buggy Puffs are a fun take on cream puffs.
This Pumpkin Cheesecake is actually really good!
And Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are iconic in Magic Kingdom — so glad they’ve returned to Adventureland!
(they look like this:)
Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is a Liberty Tree Tavern favorite! And here it’s all you care to eat!
Fresh Fruit and Crackers and Cheese are good, lighter options.
And the Spinach Dip goes well on those crackers (though I don’t love that it’s served cold).
Kids (and kids-at-heart…hey, you paid for it!) can decorate their own cupcakes, brownies, and cookies!
And action stations include create-your-own-sundae and a fun s’mores station!
Drinks include berry lemonade, POG juce, iced and hot coffee, tea, milk, and more.
Including sparkling apple cider!
The HalloWishes Fireworks Dessert Party takes place at Tomorrowland Terrace, just as the Happily Ever After parties do. The cost is $84 for guests 10 and up and $50 for guests 3-9 years old. So it’s not cheap — particularly since you’ve already paid for the party. But if you plan on trying all the Party treats anyway and want to be sure you’ve go a decent view of HalloWishes, it might just work out for you!

Karen from Ohio says
Yum! It all looks so good!
And, spinach dip is served cold – normally in a hollowed out round loaf of pumpernickel bread… has sour cream in the recipe; no cheese. Cheesy spinach-artichoke dip is usually served warm.
Katie says
I love the idea of surprising my mom with the dessert party but I’m not really sure how it fits into the evening! Will we have enough time for everything else? It’s just us so not too worried about non decorated rides and such
Debbie says
Can you see the Boo To You parade from the HalloWishes viewing area?
DFB Sarah says
Debbie, your mileage will vary a bit with this one. In all likelihood, you would be able to see the taller floats from either the Plaza Viewing area or the Tomorrowland Terrace area. But you won’t be able to catch all of the action lower to the ground unless you’re in the Plaza Viewing area closest to Main Street, U.S.A.
DFB Sarah says
Katie, it would depend on what else you want to do. If you did want to enjoy several attractions, watch the Boo to You Parade, enjoy all the other entertainment, and meet a few characters, it might all be too much with the dessert party. But if, as you say, you’re not too worried about hitting every single Party event, it might work for you! HalloWishes begins at 10:15, and you can check into the party up to 1.5 hours beforehand (but you could check in later, too, it would just cut down on your dessert eating time). So if you enter the Magic Kingdom at 4 and start enjoying Party festivities at 7, you may find you can fit it in! What a great surprise, should you decide to go for it!
