Today we’re bringing you a guest review from our DFB pal Jennifer Elliott, who attended the new Rose & Crown Tea Experience in Epcot’s World Showcase! This weekend, I had the privilege to attend The Rose & Crown’s brand new Tea Experience. It began promptly at 9:45 am, so make sure to allow plenty of time to walk to the United Kingdom Pavilion.
Upon your arrival, you will check in and be seated in the dining room of the Rose & Crown Pub. In front of you will be a tiny tea pot that holds a place card with your party’s name on it.
The tables are set with cream, sugar, empty bulb cups, Twining’s tea bags, and a set of tongs.
Our Hostess, Brogan, normally works at the tea shop in the UK Pavilion. She was very knowledgeable about all things Twining’s Tea and taught us how to best brew a proper “cuppa”. (Hint, for black tea 3 minutes max in hot water, or your tea will become bitter.)
Once we discussed tea it was time to brew our English Breakfast and Chai Pumpkin Spice teas. We then tried each one and discussed if we preferred one or the other.
Some trivia about tea is thrown in to keep the whole experience fun and informative.
We then were introduced to the Chef while the servers brought out a sampling of tea sandwiches. They were Salmon Salad with Pickles, Irish Cheese and Pickle, Egg Salad, and Curry Chicken. All were delicious and the edible Hawaiian Orchid was a lovely touch. This was also accompanied by an iced Lady Earl Grey tea.
Next, we were taught how to brew the second set of teas, Green Tea with Pomegranate, Raspberry and Strawberry and Chamomile with Honey & Vanilla.
Finally, the Chef introduced the final course, a Plain and Fruit Scone with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam.
The experience lasted about 45 minutes, but we didn’t feel rushed to finish our food or drinks. They do seat small parties with other guests, but we found this to be fun as we conversed about what we liked and didn’t like about tea. At $30 per person it was a good value, and there was enough food to satisfy.

Sounds like a pretty good value.
Jamie says
It looks like English Breakfast tea and not Earl Gray as listed in the text.
Essie says
I’ve been dreaming about tea at the GF someday, but this seems like a nice experience and I do enjoy the UK pavilion immensely.

I am DEFINITELY doing this when I go in May… I have two days in WDW alone before the rest of my friends arrive and this is PERFECT!
Angie says
Sort of disappointed it’s bagged tea.
Rhonda Hamilton says
We have loved the royal tea tour during Flower & Garden !
This seems like a no brainer for Food & Wine Festival , I have it booked for 3 weeks from now !!
Carol says
My daughter and I have it booked already for our trip in January. Can’t wait
John says
Essie, tea at the GF is a great experience. My wife and I always keep an afternoon free to go there.
Being British, I love tea and this sounds interesting. However, tea is an afternoon meal, not 9.45am. I’m also not keen on drinking various types of tea at the same meal. A pot of Earl Grey with sandwiches and scones is just right at 4pm. I think we’ll stick with the GF.

Twinings tea bags aren’t bad in a pinch or on the go but they should be serving proper loose tea. I know Disney has a deal with Twinings and that’s fine. Twinings UK sells some good teas.
Literally all of the tea bags pictured here can be purchased at the grocery store in my little Midwestern suburb. What’s special or British about that? If they were serving some of the more unique UK only Twinings offerings, fine, but they’re the inferior American versions. $30 for grocery store tea bags and a few nibbles is a bit much but I’m a tea snob.
Margaret Drayden says
That sounds nice, but I’ll stick with the Grand Floridian’s tea. One upside is that if you have some dietary issues, you call WDW’s customer service and let them know and the chef will accommodate you. They are absolutely fantastic! For instance, I can’t have sugar or eggs, so they made sure that my sandwiches didn’t have any egg (no egg salad or any egg products in any of the other sandwiches) and no sugar in my dessert. The chef fixed an amazing dessert which I liked better than the other dessert offerings. And my daughter’s food allergies were accommodated too. I can’t say enough good things about it, so you might want to try it out as well.

Tea at GF is better value. We did this tea experience at Rose and Crown last March during Flower and Garden Festival. They’ve upped offerings so that’s good, but we’d not do it again
Jolene Correll says
This looks amazing and a lot of fun. I have never taken the time to try any of the events at Food and Wine but I would definitely do this one!
Rikki says
Is park admission required for this?
DFB Sarah says
Rikki, yes, park admission is required.

We did this and loved it however you may be seated with other guests. We were a party of 3 and were seated with another party of four at a table for eight. It was a little off putting because the lady to my moms right with completely obnoxious and loud. She ruined the experience for my mother who is hard of hearing. She couldn’t hear what the host was saying most of the time. Just a heads up if you want to be at your own table maybe ask ahead of time. We didn’t know.

I experienced the tea event at Rose and Crown in October and I loved it! The tea brewing timer is something I wish they sold at the Twining’s store- not necessary but so darn cute! I thought the value of this tea experience was better than tea at the Grand Floridian. I enjoyed the talk along with the answers to some of my tea questions. The food was very good. I wish they would substitute another tea for the Chai Pumpkin, perhaps a white. The iced Lady Grey was quite good in addition to the other hot teas. I’ll definitely do this again. Our tea lasted almost 1 1/2 hours and was most enjoyable.
Cynthia Mero says
Was your scone plate for one person- in other words, did you get two scones per person?
DFB Sarah says
Cynthia, this was a guest review, but I believe the platings were per person.
Nancye says
Yes our party of six have reservations for my 80th birthday on Nov 9th. We are looking forward to it.
