A special piece of animation was introduced to the world on November 18, 1928 when Mickey Mouse appeared in Steamboat Willie. This past weekend, we celebrated the 90 Year Anniversary all over Walt Disney World.
So it’s fitting that we’re checking out What’s New at the Disney World Resort which celebrates the art of Disney films: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort!
Ink and Paint Shop
Our first stop is the Ink and Paint Shop, where you’ll find the Birthday Mouse on holiday themed sketches (with some available to be personalized). SUPER cute gift idea for any Disney fans on your list.
And specialty Resort merchandise includes new Art of Animation twist pens that resemble paint brushes!
And we continue to spot these adorable character Light-up Hair Bows all around Disney World.
The Ink & Paint Shop is carrying the Ariel Bow, in light (ha!) of The Little Mermaid section of the Resort.
Landscape of Flavors
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies
are back at the Landscape of Flavors Food Court!
And current specialty cupcakes include the Millennial Pink Cupcake, the Mickey Vanilla Oreo Cupcake, and the Funfetti Cupcake.
And now that cooler temps are — at long last! — starting to arrive in Florida, you may want to keep an eye on the offered Soups.
The Chef’s Selection Soup was New England Clam Chowder during our visit.
Finding Nemo Section
Just a heads up that parts of the building close to the bridge of the Finding Nemo section of the Resort are still being worked on.
But that’s not the only construction going on at Art of Animation…
Disney Skyliner
Work continues at a consistently busy pace on the Art of Animation and Pop Century station for the upcoming Disney Skyliner!
In fact, and opening season has just been announced for the transportation system which will also connect two additional Resorts, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios: it will start to carry guests in fall of 2019!
Even more big changes are in store all around Walt Disney World. Find out more in our DFB YouTube Video!
Have you stayed at Art of Animation Resort? Please let us know with a comment!
