It was recently announced that Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy will be opening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 31, 2019. The show will welcome guests into the world of Pixar’s Cars films by way of an introduction to Lightning McQueen as we prepare to join the next generation of rookie racers.
Today, Disney has released a video featuring Jay Ward, Creative Director for the Pixar Cars Franchise sharing about what guests have to look forward to when the show makes its spring debut!
Robin Gorrell says
Does anyone know what tier FastPass this attraction will be?
Deb WDW says
Robin, all new rides fall under the E ticket category. Since this ride experience is supposed to encourage the guests to visit the other side of the park, thus easing the crowds in Star Wars land and toy story land.
Matthew says
Where in the park is this going to be located? I feel like I miss it every time this is brought up but I just have no idea where in DHS they’re putting this.
Stacey says
Wish this was opening the second week of March. I checked for fp but no luck
DFB Sarah says
Matthew, what’s been officially released is “near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster”. A structure is visible behind that area of the park.
Chrissy says
Our first day in the park this year is April 1st. We are coming up on our 60 mark for FastPass selections. Will we be able to select a fast past for this?
margo k says
Any recommendations for fun ways to celebrate a birthday in Disney World? I’ll be spending my sweet 16 there this spring 🙂
DFB Sarah says
Chrissy, that’s uncertain right now. Definitely check on My Disney Experience when you make your Fastpass selections. If it isn’t there, keep checking. Certainly once the attraction opens, we would expect that FP would be an option.
Fawn says
From what I understand HS has a tiered system for fast passes. I know that the three toy story attractions are tier 1 currently. Will the new Cars attraction replace one of those? I know someone already asked this but I didn’t understand the answer with the ‘e’ category.
