It’s the question everyone is asking right now – What are the dates for the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival?
We’ve been getting A LOT of emails and messages lately about this, and we KNOW you’re all eager to start planning your trips, booking your hotels, and looking for flights. We are, too!
What Are The Dates For the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival?
The dates for this year’s festival have not yet been announced. But we can make some pretty good guesses based on previous years that will hopefully help you as you start to make your plans.
Last year the Festival ran for 75 days from August 30 (Thursday) until November 12 (Monday)! In 2017, when the Festival celebrated its 35th anniversary is also ran for a record 75 days (for the first time ever!) from August 31 (Thursday) until November 13 (Monday).
Prior to that, in 2016 the Festival ran from September 14 (Wednesday) through November 14 (Monday), and in 2015 the Festival didn’t start until September 25 (Friday) and ended November 16 (Monday).
Looking at the 2017 and 2018 dates, it is very likely that the 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival will start between the middle and end of August — likely August 22 or 29, and will run through November 11, 2019.
While we don’t expect an extension of beyond 75 days, it could happen. You just never know with Disney! If they do add on more days it would likely be at the beginning of the Festival in August. It is unlikely that Disney would extend the festival past a closing date of November 11, since they’ll start running into holiday events and the Festival of the Holidays in Epcot as well as the opening of Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (But the have surprised us before so you never know!)
When Will Epcot Food and Wine Festival Dates Be Announced?
In 2018, Epcot Food and Wine Festival dates were announced on March 12th. But for 2017, dates were announced in November of 2016! We’re guessing we’ll see dates announced in early March, but that’s just an estimate based on last year. With Galaxy’s Edge happening this year, anything can upset the apple cart!

Carrie says
When is the schedule of special, ticketed events is released?
DFB Sarah says
Carrie, last year the details started coming out in early June — right before the window to make reservations opened.
Alexandra says
Do you think Disney will release the dates anytime soon? Trying to plan my September trip !!
Danielle says
Do you think they haven’t posted the dates yet because they are finalizing Eat to the Beat performers and will announce it at the same time?? I feel like in the past they announced the dates and then like a month later Eat to the Beat, but this seems late for the dates to still not be out for the festival.
DFB Sarah says
Danielle, it’s later than the past two years, but Disney’s always keeping us on our toes! 😉 We’re checking constantly for the announcement of dates, and we’ll update ASAP!
DFB Sarah says
Alexandra, we sincerely hope so! We’re watching constantly!
Danielle says
Thanks for the info guys!! I’ll keep following you for the updates. You guys are the best!! Always so informative. Really appreciate you!!
Elena says
I wonder if they will push back the Food and Wine Festival since part of Galaxy’s Edge is opening the last weekend in August. I am going Labor Day week, and I was hoping it would be underway by then.
Cassidy Hoffman says
I can’t believe we still don’t know.
Mike says
I’m in the same boat as Elena. Already booked for early September (after assuming the timing of Food & Wine Fest based on previous two years) and am now starting to worry it won’t be going yet. :-/
DFB Sarah says
Cassidy, we’re watching constantly!
Ryan says
Same as you Mike. Have early September dates and am getting worried. The longer this goes without an announcement the more I worry.
Kasey says
I think they will open it at the same time as the Star Wars opening to offset the crowds to Hollywood Studios. Just a theory.
Nicole says
Any news on the Concert Series lineup for Eat to the beat?
DFB Sarah says
