Where is a hungry visitor supposed to go when traversing the Black Spire Outpost on the Planet Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?
As it turns out… lots of places! But today we’re taking a closer look at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo which will open along with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland this summer and Disney World’s Hollywood Studios this fall.
Proprietor Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs runs the kitchen, having once honed his cooking craft in the kitchen of Maz Kanata on Takodana and then traveled the galaxy with the combined result of bringing “exotic flavors and unusual dishes to “Tuggs’ Grub.” In fact, Disney shared that “Chef Tuggs is in much demand for his culinary skills, so he moves from site to site in a modified Sienar-Chall Utilipede-Transport that becomes a mobile kitchen and restaurant – like an intergalactic ‘food truck.’ ”
Guests will be able to spot the fast-casual eatery by the multi-transport shuttle docked on top. Inside, cargo crates will double as stalls for eating, with “one crate being lowered through a giant hatch in the ceiling,” according to StarWars.com. Pods coming into the hangar are delivering cargo of the finest ingredients in the galaxy, with other pods providing produce, provisions, and other equipment for incoming freighters, as Disney Parks Blog shares. Guests will be able to choose indoor seating in the hangar or outdoor seating in a shaded courtyard.
And as to those exotic flavors and unusual dishes? Guests can expect to enjoy “familiar flavors but sometimes with unexpected and surprising colors and textures” in a unique presentation.
We presented a few of the dishes coming to the Docking Bay in our Galaxy’s Edge restaurant overview, but there are more images to share as seen on StarWars.com. Vegetarian entrees will include Felucian Garden Spread, which is a plant-based kefta “meatball” dish and, according to StarWars.com, “takes inspiration from its namesake, Felucia, a planet covered in plants and foliage.”
Another plant-based option is the Ithorian Garden Loaf, a plant-based “meatloaf” served with roasted vegetable mash, seasonal vegetables, and mushroom sauce.
Moving into meat entrees, the Smoke Kaduu Ribs are smoked country pork ribs served with blueberry corn muffins and cabbage slaw.
Braised Shaak Roast features beef pot roast served over cavatelli pasta, kale, and mushrooms.
And the Fried Endorian Tip Yip will be a chicken dish served with roasted veggie mash and herb gravy.
Travelers can also opt for the Oven-roasted Tip Yip with mixed greens, roasted veggies, quinoa, and pumpkin seeds with a green curry ranch dressing.
Seafood will also be served including the Oven-roasted Burra Fish — a Dijon-crusted sustainable fish served with the same accompaniments as the Oven-roasted Tip Yip.
And the Yobshrimp Noodle Salad will be a marinated noodle salad topped with chilled shrimp.
Desserts will include a Raspberry Cream Puff with passion fruit mousse or Chocolate Cake with white chocolate mousse and coffee custard.
And don’t forget… there will be plenty more where this came from! From Blue AND Green Milk to Outpost Mix popcorn to Ronto Wraps, there will be no shortage of eats on Planet Batuu! See more by clicking here.
