Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration
is a brand new event, officially opening in Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District on April 26th!
Pop-Up Disney is a limited-time pop-up event celebrating 90 years with Mickey Mouse with imaginatively-themed rooms inspired by Mickey and his animated adventures and more throughout the years.
And these rooms let YOU step directly into the scene by providing larger-than-life photo opportunities to capture all the Mickey-inspired moments!
While the event officially kicks off this Friday, we were invited to a Media Preview today to check it out and share it with you! And to my fellow Mickey fans… boy, are you in for a treat!
So, let’s STEP right on up…
… and see what’s around ALL THE CORNERS!
A Mickey-shaped map provides the layout, featuring themed rooms celebrating our favorite Mouse!
The rooms give you a chance to CELEBRATE Mickey and Minnie’s Love, the fact that “It All Started With A Mouse,” Mickey’s Friendships, Sorcerer Mickey’s Magic, Mickey Around the World, Forever Mickey, and Mickey at Disneyland!
Pop-Up Disney Themed Rooms
And the gang’s all here, too! Because who is Mickey without his Minnie, as seen in the Mickey and Minnie’s Love room?
The entire event weaves and winds through moments with Mickey.
And when they say it’s about Mickey “throughout the years,” they mean it!
Picture yourself (ha!) directly in Plane Crazy, honoring Mickey’s very first appearance to the world! It’s part of the It All Started With A Mouse room.
And, you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled…
… because there are TWO Hidden MINNIES in the Steamboat Willie Plush Spectacular!
(By the way, it’s not officially called the Steamboat Willie Plush Spectacular. That’s just what I’m calling it 😉 ).
We want to save some surprises for you… but since this is, after all, a photo event, we still want to give you an idea of some of the other photo ops from the various areas!
Mickey’s Friendships are definitely a cause for celebration! (I love this one!)
Sorcerer Mickey’s Magic even provides some special effects amidst the magical scene…
Mickey Around the World? We’re all for it!
Forever Mickey and Mickey at Disneyland complete the colorful, whimsical, and magical scenes!
Of course, we’re a little partial to the Mickey Snacks wall…
And, believe it or not, that’s all just a glimpse of what’s in store at Pop-Up Disney!
Merchandise
Specialty merchandise for Pop-Up Disney includes apparel and accessories including spirit jerseys, ball caps, sparkle cinch sacks and an assortment of tumblers, ornaments, and more!
And don’t miss checking out the Jerrod Maruyama Artist Collection for the event!
Ticketholder Treats
After your time at the event, bring your Pop-Up Disney! admission ticket to purchase special Ticketholder-only Treats at Marceline’s Confectionery.
Look! It’s a Mickey Snack… BASED ON A MICKEY SNACK! The Chocolate Mickey Bar!
It’s nothin’ but pure chocolate, my friends, and it is divine!
And these colorful treats bring together white chocolate and marshmallow.
There’s even a hint of subtle cherry flavor to the yummy marshmallow.
There’s only one thing more to say… start thinking up your poses now 😉 ! Well, I guess there is one more thing I can add to that…

Are there or will there be Disney Photo Pass photographers taking your pictures or is it all up to you?
DFB Sarah says
John N., AJ says there weren’t PhotoPass that she saw. You could potentially ask the employees in Pop Up Disney! to snap pics for you.
