We’re visiting the Epcot resort area to see What’s New at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, and Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts! We’ve got some cupcake news, Mother’s Day shopping, and more!
What’s New at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn?
Our first stop is Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas. Here’s where you’ll find fun BoardWalk entertainment and some dining spots!
We stopped into Screendoor General Store, where they had a large display of gifts for Mothers’ Day!
There are several pre-made baskets featuring goodies like I Love Mom Krispie Treats and Alex & Ani Bangles!
You can also create Custom Mother’s Day Baskets! The price for this is $7 for the basket, shrink wrap, bow, tissue paper, and arrangement by a trained cast member. You’ll need to purchase all the things for the basket separately.
Guests can also participate in Mother’s Day Canvas Painting for $50 on Sunday morning. The price includes a canvas, a beverage, and snacks.
BoardWalk Bakery is featuring its sandwiches on its menu board. See a review of the Butter Butter sandwich here!
The Spring Basket Cupcake is still available in the pastry case — but only for a couple more days! See our review here. A Mother’s Day Cupcake should be available soon!
This drippy, gooey Cinnamon Bun is available, too. We could go for one (or two!) of them!
And BoardWalk Bakery is celebrating Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ 3oth anniversary with this Strawberry-Frosted Cupcake. (The cake is white, not strawberry!)
What’s New at Disney’s Beach Club Resort?
is quizzing guests with Beach Club Trivia about High School Musical. See how much you can remember from these fun movies!
We liked this Cinnamon Roll Hidden Mickey in the case at Beach Club Marketplace!
What’s New at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort?
Yacht Club
is advertising the Regatta Run. This 3K is held around Crescent Lake every Thursday morning! Pre-registration can be completed by calling 407-WDW-Play, and the run costs $15. But you’ll get refreshments and a swag bag at the end!
For the kiddos, look into Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew. This fun activity is for kids 4-12 and includes a fun kids’ night out as part of Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew! Dinner and a snack are provided — and the grown ups can get a night off! The experience is held at Beach Club, but Yacht Club is also distributing flyers.
And FYI for wine lovers: Yachtsman Steakhouse is now hosting a wine pairing called Wonderful World of Wine that previously was at Beach Club’s Martha’s Vineyard Lounge. The wine pairing will be held on the second Tuesday of each month and costs $35 to $60. Call 407-WDW-PLAY for more info!
What’s New at Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts?
Next up, we stop into the Swan and Dolphin Resorts! Let’s see What’s New at the Dolphin first!
Guest Services at the Dolphin features a Toy Story Land display of giant blocks. So fun!
Meanwhile Fuel, the hotel’s grab-and-go spot, has a very cool and very impressive display!
Monsters Can Be Sweet Too is a masterful sugar creation by Executive Pastry Chef Laurent Branlard!
Check this out! It’s Mike Wazowski — with ONE EYE! (These are the jokes, kid!) He’s balancing on a stool with ribbons and flowers of sugar below.
And trapped under Mike’s stool? Raaaaaandall! He looks about as annoyed as he should in the circumstances. 😉
The Monsters display is near the candy dispensers in Fuel, so be sure to stop in to admire it! Sugar! Can you believe it?!
In the pastry case at Fuel are some fun Krispie Treat options.
And this Not So Short Strawberry Cupcake. Pretty color — and with tasty white chocolate ears!
Meanwhile Fuel has their advertising on point: coffee + pretzel + cupcake. (Hey, us, too! We consist of these as well!)
The Fountain Funnel at Swan and Dolphin’s The Fountain ice cream shop is a fun challenge! It features 7 flavors of ice cream, 3 sauces, 3 toppings, whipped cream, and a cherry. It’s no Kitchen Sink — but it’s a great alternative!
The Fountain’s Milkshake of the Month is Mango Madness. That sounds refreshing in the heat!
Meanwhile, at the Swan…
A display of Guide Maps, restaurant information, and Swan and Dolphin postcards!
These postcards are so pretty! We love the retro styling! And they’re FREE!
Swan is also advertising the Garden Grove character meal. This fun character meal is held at dinner nightly and at breakfast on the weekends!
Java Bar has some fun beverage options! Some of them even have some character!
Check out these adorable Evian bottles! Mickey, Daisy, Goofy, and Donald are ready to help you hydrate!
But if you need caffeine, the coffee Flavor of the Month is White Chocolate Raspberry Mocha.
Turn It Up Tuesday recreation activities are on display at Swan and include fun options like Aqua Zumba, Music Trivia, and Karaoke!
And before we leave the Swan, let’s just relax with this view for a moment…
International Gateway and Walt Disney World Resort Policies
On the path toward the International Gateway, this small brown building will become a ticket booth in the near future. It’s expected to be in place while construction winds down on the International Gateway Skyliner Station. Currently, Skyliner construction at IG has temporarily relocated the entrance and security while the new entrance from Skyliner is completed.
Also in this area is a map with posted smoking areas. Recall that all smoking is banned from inside the parks, so designated smoking areas are outside of park entrances. Epcot, therefore, has two designated smoking areas.
And near the Friendship Boat Dock, a sign with information to “Know Before You Go”. Info includes stroller sizes, smoking policies, and more.
That’s that, Disney food friends! We hope you’re enjoying our What’s New around the World posts — we love bringing them to you! Come along on our next What’s New walk!

Aryn says
Looks like the sign for the basket says it’s $7 for the basket – not $87.
DFB Sarah says
Aryn, that would be one impressive basket! 😉 We fixed it, thanks!
