The Play Disney Parks app will give guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge the chance to interact with the land in truly unique ways. It will, in essence, be converted into your very own Star Wars datapad once you set foot on the planet Batuu.
Today, Disney has revealed a few more details on the app’s features within Galaxy’s Edge, and we’ll start by taking a look at how it will enhance your experience in the land’s opening day attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Not only will there be no shortage of things to see in the queue for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run… there will be even more ways to stay entertained in line with an in-queue game via Play Disney Parks!
Disney shares that guests will be able to “take on a job for Hondo Ohnaka, the pirate turned ‘legitimate’ businessman operating Ohnaka Transport Solutions out of Black Spire Outpost.” You may reroute misplaced cargo, “learn how to keep your cover under pressure” and even prepare the Falcon for your flight!
Outpost Control
Whose side are you on: the Resistance or the First Order? A land-wide game by the name of Outpost Control will let you declare your allegiance to either side as both “vie for a hold on the land” as the First Order attempts to install surveillance devices in door panels to spy on the Resistance. Disney shares that “Winners may even find themselves rewarded with galactic credits for their efforts.”
Interactive Tools
And, of course, four tools and features will allow you to interact with Galaxy’s Edge itself!
The Hack feature will allow you to “interact with certain door panels or droids to see their memories,” while Scan will give you the chance to see inside cargo crates dotting Black Spire Outpost.
Translate will let you read signs in Aurebesh (the written language of the Star Wars galaxy).
And Tune will let you “tap into and decrypt signals from antennas or communications devices and listen to secret messages.”
Play Disney Parks is available for free download for both iPhone® and smartphones for Android™.
Disney also provides the following: “Message, data and roaming rates may apply. Availability subject to handset limitations, and features may vary by handset, service provider or otherwise. Coverage and app stores not available everywhere. Music streaming feature requires an Apple Music subscription. Separate Apple Music terms and conditions apply. Subscription plan renews automatically after trial. If you’re under 18, get your parents’ permission first. Some features require separate theme park admission.”

I’m sure it will have some cool features but on vacation I don’t want to be on my cellphone. Only exception is making extra fast passes after we use our first 3.
