Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Park
is an icon loved by millions and recognized around the globe. And now, the castle has fully awakened after a months-long refurbishment!
Just days ago, the tarps covering the castle’s turrets and spires we removed. This revealed a brighter, more vibrant color scheme of pinks, blues, and gold. (Learn more about the refreshed colors here!)
And now construction walls that had closed off the castle have been removed, revealing the soft blues and grays of the stone — and more gold!
Guests are now able, once again, to pass through the Castle as they move throughout the Park.
Imagineering art director Kim Irvine says they used an “ages-old painting technique called atmospheric perspective to visually heighten the castle,” with richer pinks on the lower portions and slightly bluer-toned pinks moving upward.
We gotta say, Sleeping Beauty Castle is truly living up to her name with this pixie-dusted look — just in time to welcome the masses when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens next week! Somehow we think she won’t be upstaged — not even by a starship!
Indeed, Sleeping Beauty Castle looks better than ever, from ALL angles!
