Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion has been frightening guests for half a century, and a new exhibit has offers fans a chance to see elements of the ride never seen before. The only chilling challenge here is how to make it into Disneyland for Haunted Mansion’s 50th anniversary on August 9!
Despite the timelessness of Haunted Mansion, the spooky ride actually underwent many changes over its first 15 years, and now guests can find out what hair-raising modifications were made. Your Ghost Host welcomes you to this new exhibit!
Currently residing in the Disney Gallery on Main Street U.S.A., “Happy Haunts Materialize” celebrates the ghastly journey Imagineers took to invent the popular attraction.
To commemorate the occasion, the Haunted Mansion’s 999 happy haunts have put together a wonderfully terrifying collection of models, concept art, and other memorabilia. Maybe you’ll visit and bump the number up to 1,000?
Numerous characters’ transformations are on display, including the Caretaker, the Bride, and Madame Leota.
These Grim Grinning Ghosts have quite the history, and we’re all here for it!
The exhibit is not to be confused with the after-hours hard ticket event, “The Haunted Mansion: Celebrating 50 Years of Retirement Unliving” that will take place on August 7th and 8th. Thankfully, the exhibit is open to all Disneyland Park guests! Make a creepy crawl down to check out the collection… if you dare.

Patricia, I don’t see any official (or unofficial, frankly) word on when it will end, but we’ll update in our Disneyland What’s New posts when there’s a change!

Well you haven’t really spelled out what it will actually consist of but I know one thing Walt Disney will be watching with a big smile and maybe a tear as this is just what he invisioned Disneyland to be a place where families can go and leave it all at the gate and let the magic of his wonderful land fill each of us body and soul so we can take it back to our “lives” but now filled with his magic we know we can handle whatever is ahead of us. Thanks Walt
