Are you as ready as I am to “Go the Distance” to see the stage version of Hercules? Then we have some news for you!
The cast has officially been announced for the show, which will hold FREE performances at the Public Theater’s Delacorte Theater in Central Park from August 31st through September 8th.
Headlining the cast, Jelani Alladin will transform from his previous role as Kristoff in the musical Frozen to the hunky hero, Hercules. Additionally, the musical will include Krysta Rodriguez as Meg, Roger Bart as Hades, James Monroe Iglehart as Phil, Jeff Hiller as Panic, Tamika Lawrence as Calliope, Ramona Keller as Thalia, and Rema Webb as Terpsichore.
Lear deBessonet will direct the star-studded cast, joined by Chase Brock for choreography. While Alan Menken and David Zippel’s songs from the original movie will be featured in the musical, Kristoffer Diaz has created new material and an adapted book for the stage production.
In addition to all the Broadway actors and actresses we’ll see in the show, more than 200 New Yorkers will participate in the musical as well. A special performance by the Broadway Inspirational Voices will take place.
Talk about going Zero to Hero, just like that!

I love Roger Bart! How cool that he’s a part of this production as he provided the singing voice of young Hercules in the animated movie!
