Welcome to our roundup of What’s New in Magic Kingdom!
Today we’ll talk about construction updates, food news, and a whole bunch of merchandise! Let’s get started.
Magic Kingdom Food Updates
If you still want to try some Toy Story items, you may be in luck! When we visited Magic Kingdom, we saw themed caramel apples in Main Street Confectionery and Big Top Treats.
In Tomorrowland, we spotted some adorable Buzz Lightyear mini donuts at Joffrey’s Revive! We love our donuts here at DFB, especially when they’re themed to our favorite characters!
Magic Kingdom Construction Updates
Near Magic Kingdom’s entrance, we noticed that more foliage had been added to the construction area we saw last week. This area is located near the old bag check spot.
In Fantasyland, construction on the Cinderella Castle walkway is still underway. We were glad to see they’ve made a lot of progress with the brickwork!
In Tomorrowland, Astro Orbiter is still closed for refurbishment. As we mentioned last week, the attraction appears to be reopening on August 15th.
Also in Tomorrowland, construction on the Tron coaster is well underway. The highly-anticipated coaster will open in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebrations in 2021 and we can hardly wait!
Magic Kingdom Merch Updates
Now that we’ve covered food news and construction updates, it’s time to talk about MERCH!
On July 26th-27th, Uptown Jewelers will hold a Rebecca Hook Jewelry event! We love her adorable Minnie ear necklaces. Check with a Cast Member for more details on the event!
In Crystal Arts, we had to stop in to get a closer look at the pumpkins the glassblowers were working on. How cool is that pumpkin?!
If you love collectibles, you’re in luck! While we were in Big Top Souvenirs, we found the Ariel doll ($129.99), which is part of the Disney Parks Diamond Castle Collection. We previously spotted the doll in Epcot.
Over in Adventureland, we found an Aladdin Lamp ($39.99) in the Agrabah Bazaar.
Now if we could just decide on our three wishes…
In The Emporium, we spotted the colorful Walt Disney World shirts ($39.99) we previously found in Disney Springs. According to a Cast Member, they arrived in the store last week. These shirts would be perfect to wear in the cooler months in Disney World!
Also in The Emporium, we noticed that the youth t-shirt display was moved to the entrance.
We couldn’t help but notice this hilarious Donald Duck shirt ($19.99) we hadn’t seen before!
If you’re a fan of Marvel films, this hat may be for you! You can grab a hat inspired by Black Panther at The Emporium for $27.99.
Read about all the upcoming Marvel films and series here!
Also in The Emporium, we spotted some super cute Disney Tails leads ($17.99)! The leads feature an adorable pink bow and Disney icons.
Can you spot Aladdin’s lamp??
The Emporium was also carrying some new character mugs when we were there! We spotted an Aladdin-themed paintbrush mug ($19.99) featuring Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie.
And we also found a totally awesome Coco mug ($22.99)! The mug’s handle is modeled in the shape of a guitar while the back features the title of one of the film’s most popular songs — “Remember Me.”
Wrapping up our merchandise haul at The Emporium, we noticed some wonderfully sinister villains phone cases ($29.99). If these look familiar to you, you’re not alone! We’re pretty sure we saw some similar phone cases at Villains After Hours!
We found Dr Facilier…
…Jafar…
…and the Evil Queen herself!
If you’re in the market for a more lighthearted phone case, we love this adorable Donald Duck phone case ($29.99)!

Norman Cavey says
I don’t buy tee shirts because they don’t have pockets or just one pocket. I like to put my glasses in the pocket or sun glasses and some times along with glasses I put my phone in my pocket. I haven’t seen a tee shirt or dress shirt with a pocket in years
BJK says
Do they have phone cases for anything other than iPhones? It’d be nice if they made things for some of the other popular android phones out there.
DFB Sarah says
BJK, they do, but they’re definitely harder to come by.
