Just a tip for those trying, click on the DFB link!! Don’t try to go through your email! I was stuck “waiting in line” through our email link and just happened to check DFB blog. This link took me straight in to the registration and we were able to score a Saturday reservation (middle of the day super hot in Florida, but hey beggars can’t be choosers). We usually don’t have any luck with these things and they sell out really quickly, so excited to finally get to experience Star Wars!! Thanks DFB!!
OrangeBlossom says
Do you think they will be offering reservation queues for the rest of us?
We are touring Sept. 16-20

I got my invite and I’m going August 18! Im super excited!!!!
Dana Mariani says
I cannot thank you enough for posting this!! I’m booked for Aug 21st!!!
Kathy says
After receiving an email for annual pass holders to register for the Galaxy Edge event was informed only platinum and platinum plus qualified. Apparently other pass holders money paid each month means absolutely nothing, it is a terrible shame and disgrace what is and has taken place at WDW which was originally deemed to be celebrated by all families not just the elite. All pass holders should qualify.
Lauren says
We got in!!! Aug 19th! Gonna have to take a personal day from teaching as soon will have just started the week before! Cannot wait!
Holly says
Didn’t work for me either (Gold Passholder).☹️
Kelly Vorhauer says
Thank you for posting this. When I spoke to a cast member last week they stated that I would receive and e-mail with the invitation. They double checked my e-mail address and everything. I did not get an e-mail and only knew it was today because of what you posted. I was not able to get any of the dates because it was already at capacity when I logged on. I never got an e-mail. I am a bit disappointed.
Michelle says
Thank you so much for the information! I was able to get a reservation for August 20th. I am so freaking excited!!! You are the best!!
Carolyn Turnbull says
The event is already sold out. It is impossible for passholders who are working to register for these events. I cannot check my email every 5 minutes during the workday.
Lily says
so excited, when I logged on a few hours ago virtual line for about 15 minutes. All worth it!!
Demaris F Hill says
I agree with Kathy. Its very disheartening to be a loyal passholder year after year and still be left out.

Hi DFB gang! I got in!!!!! This is only the 2nd VIPassholder event that I’ve been able to get a spot for. I honestly didn’t think I would. My two sisters and I, are headed to Batuu on Monday the 19th. It’ll have to be a day trip, because we’re headed for a week of fun at Disney Sunday the 25th. It’s crazy, but we can’t miss this opportunity! I never thought they would have a sneak peek for this!!!! I’m still looking forward to the controlled chaos opening day, but now we can rest easy if it’s just too much! Yay! Without your heads up yesterday, who knows if I would’ve gotten in! Thank you, and keep up the great work!!!
DisneyDamsel says
Wow, way to try and rain on people’s parade Debbie Downers! Goodness knows you couldn’t possibly be happy for those of us who do get to experience Galaxy’s Edge early! The top three tiers of passes were invited, so it’s not as if only the “elite” were included. I’m certaInly not in that category. I make monthly payments on my AP, just as I’m sure you do. I spend less in other areas to be able to do so! Not to mention, the truly elite will be those going on a tour with their private guide, not racing to claim a spot for the sneak peek like us! If you can afford a pass to Disney, it’s safe to assume that you’re not doing too horribly yourselves. Try being grateful for what you do have, instead of whining about what you don’t! Do you know how many people don’t know what it is to step foot into Disney for even one day? And what is so wrong about WDW offering something special to those of us who do pay the most? It sounds like y’all would be a perfect match for Universal Orlando! Get their AP, and go spread your negativity over there! There will always be people in life with more than you. Try being happy with what you do have, and appreciate that it’s way more than a ton of people out there. Think about helping those less fortunate, instead of worrying about always getting yours! I love this blog, but am growing increasingly infuriated with the entitled comments lately on certain subjects. Keep up the great work DFB!
P.S. The next time you’re flying in coach, make sure to hit up someone in first class for the nicer snacks and drinks. After all, you deserve it!

We didn’t get an invite for it and we have Platinum Plus Passes. Any ideas how to get one.
Cartier says
I never even received an email and I have a platinum pass?
Disney BoSox Fan says
Way to go Disney Damsel. Nailed it. This unfortunately is not just happening here but across out country.
Melissa says
Sadly, I never got an email and I’m a platinum plus passholder. I had been checking email daily. I just saw this article and used the link. When I logged in, the event is full. I couldn’t be more disappointed.
K says
Email came today, less than 8 hours ago and it’s already full? Florida Resident, annual platinum pass holder that you continue to raise prices for and we can’t even get a reservation. Not cool Disney. May be re-evaluating our passes next renewal period…
Arlene says
I don’t think a preview of galaxies edge is worth all of this bickering. For those who are going – great! Enjoy! For those who cannot go because they do not have a certain type of AP , I do feel badly. Everyone is very excited about galaxies edge and I think Disney could’ve done a little more to be more inclusive with all of their passholders. That being said, let’s stop being mean to each other. Life is really too short for that Just enjoy every moment you have . Galaxies Edge will be around for a while and hopefully we will all get to enjoy it at some point in time!
BD says
Same deal here. Platinum Plus holder and never even received an email. Only saw this and other blogs announce it too late and was full by the time I tried. Beyond disappointed because for once, travelling from Pennsylvania, we were actually going to be there during this time frame and my son is a Star Wars freak. Can’t believe how Disney handled this.

Jennifer, happy birthday to you!
Pat Reinsvold says
Never received an email. I’m platinum. Tried your link on the day it was posted but it was already full.

My saga of finally figuring out why I was not receiving passholder emails involved several days of emails and finally getting a VIPassholder supervisor to fix the issue. Basically there are two places you have to be opted-in to receive the emails. One is in your My Disney Experience site profile and the other is an option that “should” have been presented when you purchased your annual pass either online or by the guest relations person that provided your final pass (not certificate).
Basically, if you are not receiving passholder communications, you need to reach out via their online form or call the Passholder Support line. I was told that the normal cast members can’t see the second place where you have to be opted-in and only guest relations or supervisor+ staff can view it.

I think that Disney excluding Gold Annual Passholders from the chance to register for this event was a terrible decision. Some of us live close to Disney World and I am sure that my, and my family, spend more days per year in the parks than a Platinum AP holder that has to travel and only makes one or two trips. This is the first time our APs have ever been blocked out and I am more than just a little irked about it. Lifelong Disney and Star Wars fan and because I have the cheaper AP I am being punished for it.
Callie Mulcrone says
Do you know if just because you didnt get a slot for the Cantina if you’ll be able to do a walk-up list similar to Disneyland’s previews? We totally didnt realize there were options and so we only got the ride. So heartbroken. Going the morning of the 17th.
