You may think a trip to Disney World isn’t complete without purchasing some of the trendy new souvenirs, like the new Halloween Loungefly backpacks or Betsey Johnson Minnie Ears. We TOTALLY get that.
But, did you know you can get a bunch of Disney World souvenirs for FREE? And they’re super fun to collect, too! Put your kiddos in charge of this scavenger hunt! Explore our list of 11 awesome souvenirs that can be yours for free in Disney World.
1. Transportation Cards
If you’ve spent some time in Walt Disney World, you’ve likely used its transportation system. But did you know you can get collectible cards from the Monorails, boats, and buses?
Each card is double-sided and features a Disney character along with related trivia questions and facts about the particular mode of transportation.
Be sure to ask your captain or driver if you’d like one for yourself! This can be a fun collectible for kids (they’re numbered so you can be sure to collect them all!) so be sure to ask next time you hop on Disney World’s free transportation! We’ll be on the lookout to see if new cards come out for the Skyliner once it opens September 29th!
2. Free Stickers!
As we mentioned above, Disney World’s Skyliner Gondola System will officially open September 29th, and will transport guests from several resorts to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. If you’re excited for the Skyliner, you can grab these Skyliner stickers at Disney Vacation Club booths around the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs! The Vacation Club kiosks often have a variety of stickers on hand they’re happy to hand out to guests so just ask!
Did you know most Cast Members also have on hand a selection of stickers to give to children? The most common variety features Mickey Mouse, but we’ve seen Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Ariel, Toy Story characters, and many more! You never know when a Cast Member might tap your child on the shoulder and hand them some stickers.
3. Celebration Buttons
Disney World is such a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion, and why not get a button to mark the event? You can get a button to celebrate a first visit, marriage, anniversary, birthday, or whatever else you think is worth celebrating!
Visit guest services at the park or at your Disney World Resort to get a button. Cast Members love acknowledging buttons if they see it’s your birthday or other special celebration, so don’t be surprised if it gets you a lot more attention around the parks!
4. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Map and Cards
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is a free interactive scavenger hunt that takes place in (where else?) Magic Kingdom!! Participation in the hunt includes a “mystical map” and “spell cards” for free! After completing the hunt, the map and cards make great souvenirs.
For an added bonus, you can have your favorite characters sign the spell card on which he or she is featured.
If you’re planning to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, be on the lookout for special edition cards that are ONLY available at the parties.
If you want to get in on the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom action, head to the Fire Station on Main Street, U.S.A. and get started for free!
5. Epcot Kidcot Country Cards
While Epcot may seem the least kid-friendly of the four Disney World theme parks, there are plenty of things for little ones to enjoy! In each World Showcase Pavilion, you’ll find a Kidcot Fun Stop.
At each Fun Stop, you might find a craft or activity to do, but we especially love the Country Cards! Each of the 11 Pavilions has its own card, which includes fun facts about each country.
6. Tomorrowland Speedway Driver’s License
If your little one loves driving the cars at Tomorrowland Speedway, you’ll probably want to grab them one of these adorable Speedway Licenses!
Be sure to ask a Cast Member for one before you board or as you exit the ride.
7. Pirate’s Adventure Maps
Another scavenger hunt in Magic Kingdom is A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas. This free treasure hunt takes participants on missions around Adventureland.
Head to the sign-up spot near the exit to Pirates of the Caribbean to get going! This one is noted on the Disney World website as open from 12-6pm, so be sure to check before you head over to confirm it’s open that day. Jack Sparrow collected two of the seven treasures and it’s up to you to find the other five.
Guests can take as long as they please to complete the interactive missions. Once a mission is solved, an interactive element will usually be triggered in various spots in Adventureland — this can be a really fun way to spend some time on a crowded day in the kingdom when the lines are getting long!
At the end of each mission, guests will receive a “treasure finder card.” And if you collect all five finder cards, you’ll get a card signed by Jack Sparrow himself (CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow!). Head on over to Adventureland to test your treasure hunting skills!
8. Belle’s Autographed Bookmark
Did you know you can get an autographed bookmark when you visit Enchanted Tales with Belle in the Magic Kingdom? Well, you can!
Belle loves books, so it makes perfect sense to receive a bookmark here!
If your little princess or prince loves Belle, be sure to ask a Cast Member for one of these adorable bookmarks! And hey — we won’t judge if you want to grab a bookmark for yourself, too. 🙂
9. Animation Experience Drawings
Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently introduced The Animation Experience at Conservation Station, which is a fun drawing class! Kids and adults can brush up on their drawing skills as they follow along with a guide to draw various Disney characters.
We’d seen various iterations of this class at Disney World’s Resorts and at Hollywood Studios, and we’re glad this activity has appeared in Animal Kingdom. One of the best parts of the class? You get to bring home your very own drawing for free!
Learn more about Animal Kingdom’s Animation Experience here!
10. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Autograph Cards
Who doesn’t love Winnie-the-Pooh and Jack Skellington??
We sure do, and we LOVE the autograph cards we got at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
We got one featuring signatures from our favorite Pooh characters and another featuring Jack Skellington and Sally.
We’ve seen Jack and Sally’s card already again this year; keep an eye out for Pooh’s as well!
Check out all the merchandise from this year’s Halloween Party here!
11. Annual Passholder Magnets
Disney World Annual Passholders receive a variety of perks, like merchandise discounts and exclusive Passholder goodies. But a super fun item for Passholders to collect are the free AP magnets!
Passholders can typically find these magnets at various events in Disney World, including Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival and Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. How many magnets do you own?
We love Disney World souvenirs, and we’re glad there are so many opportunities to get fun items for free! If you have any additional free souvenirs to add to our list, feel free to leave us a comment below!

This was so timely as we are heading to WDW in two weeks for our niece’s first visit. I actually didn’t know about some of these so thank you for the heads up!

Hi DFB gang! Thanks so much all your great info! Although we’re only kids at heart now, my sisters and I love the stickers. One of my sisters uses a cane, so she’s decorated it with the stickers. We’re always on the lookout for new ones. She gets a lot of compliments on her cool cane:). Not too long ago, I asked a castmember if she had any stickers. She didn’t, and couldn’t find anyone who did nearby, so she offered my sister a pin from her trading pins….even better! We love our passholder magnets, too. We haven’t missed one since they started offering all the different characters.

TY 😊

Another fun souvenir you sometimes get is an autographed birthday card in your resort room if you have the celebration added to your reservation. You can add the celebration just by calling and asking them to note it. Anyone besides me remember when you used to get really cool plastic placemats at your dining table when they new it was your birthday?! Those days seem to be long gone but I believe the birthday card still makes a surprise appearance !

By chance do you know if they have autograph cards for the Very Merry Christmas Party and if yes where can they be found?
Steve says
There are people who also collect the Wild About Safety card series that you can collect from the guest services I believe.

Carmen – Autograph cards are given out after you meet/take pictures with the characters themselves.
DFB Sarah says
Carmen, you get them after your meet and greet with the characters.
DFB Sarah says
Carolina: No, es solo en Animal Kingdom.
Essie says
Great info as always from DFB. These things may seem like they’re just for kids but they’re wonderful, also, for adults who to do scrapbooks of their trips when they get home!

Thank You, Rebecca and Sara 🙂

Don’t forget about the Wilderness Explorers Activity at Animal Kingdom, also free

My favorite “Free” souvenir is the Batuan Spira gift card. Yes, I had to put money on it, but it was what I was going to spend anyway, so it cost me nothing in the end. Now I have a special metal “Star Wars” coin that I can reload and use on my next trip to Disney World, or just keep it as a memento..
