Just yesterday we speculated that Bongos, the Cuban-inspired Disney Springs restaurant owned by iconic singer Gloria Estefan, would close next week, and today we have confirmation that, indeed, the restaurant will close on August 18th.
The Orlando Sentinel cites Emily Clark of Lettuce Entertain You, who confirms that Bongos’ replacement will be Beatrix — which you can learn more about here!
This will be Beatrix’s first location outside of Illinois. Its other locations offer breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for the menu!
We first told readers of Beatrix’s impending arrival back in early August, but no opening date or season has been announced. When it does open, we expect Beatrix may offer a menu that includes lots of fresh produce, pressed juices, and an array of comfort foods done healthfully. We’re hungry already! 😉

I disappointed to read that they were closing. We love to eat there, the Pina Coladas were amazing! But, I read they are opening an Estefan Kitchen Sunset Walk Margaritaville Orlando! Hopefully there will be Piña Coladas!

We’re from Chicago originally and loved Lettuce Entertain You’s restaurants. Should be good.

We always eat at Bongos. Sad that it is going. Sadly, the pics or description of the food from the new place doesn’t look or sound too promising…..quite disappointing actually, so we’ll need to choose a new “regular” to go spot at the Springs.
