Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese
What’s On Trend?
New to the festival this year, The Alps is serving up Swiss-inspired delights like the uber-popular Warm Raclette Cheese! This mild cheese’s name comes from the French word ‘racler’ which means “to scrape.”
Wheels of the cheese are cut in half then melted along the top. The soft gooey cheese is typically scraped off tableside with a long knife right on top of meats, veggies — anything deserving of a bath in hot cheese! And right now, it’s SUPER trendy. There are even whole restaurants dedicated to wheels of this epic cheese!
Why You’ve Gotta Have It
Over at The Alps booth, the cheese is melted-to-order before being scraped over baby potatoes, slices of baguette, and little pickled gherkins! Grab a quick video of it being prepared to share with your jelly friends back home! This gooey, cheesy goodness is definitely a new Food and Wine favorite for us that we just can’t seem to get enough of! It’s our newest BFF for $5!
Frothy Ramen
What’s On Trend?
When we were first introduced to the Frothy Ramen Noodles at the Japan booth, we thought…well, this looks interesting. Savory foam on the top of noodles isn’t for everyone! But frothy or “bubble” ramen, known as awa-kei ramen, is gaining a lot of popularity over in Japan! The soup is typically frothed up much like the foam on your favorite latte! It’s a fun, unique take on ramen and Disney jumped on the trend!
Why You’ve Gotta Have It
Disney World loves a good excuse to put foam on foods, so this was a match made in heaven! These noodles are served chilled with an umami-rich dashi broth. The foam is a separate topping on the ramen, not created from the broth, but it makes for a fun new way to slurp your noodles! For $6, it’s a polarizing dish at the festival this year, but certainly a cool food to say you sampled on your trip around the (Disney) World!!
IMPOSSIBLE Slider
What’s On Trend?
In the past few years, we’ve seen a HUGE trend emerge focusing on reducing our dependence on consuming meat. IMPOSSIBLE plant-based meat substitute is one of the big league players at the forefront (and surprise — it actually tastes good!).
Major fast-food chains are now offering IMPOSSIBLE versions of their best-selling meat options (FYI, Burger King basically bought a huge portion of the supply earlier this year and forced other restaurants to change their menus as a result, so…yeah…it’s popular.) And the soy protein product is even being sold in most grocery stores in the ACTUAL meat section instead of the desolated corner of the freezer section previously reserved for meat substitutes.
Why You’ve Gotta Have It
If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, try the IMPOSSIBLE Slider $5.25 at the Earth Eats booth to see what all the noise is about! This juicy “burger” is surprisingly similar to the real deal (but meat-lovers still may not feel like it’s a complete replacement)! It’s served with a spicy slaw and wasabi cream, giving it some cool crunch as well as a bit of a kick!
Frozen Rosé (Frosé)
What’s On Trend?
Back at our totally trendy friend, The Alps booth, they have a frozen Cave De La Côte Rosé de Gamay Romand! It’s basically a Rosé Slushy! We’re not really sure who’s responsible for making Frosé a thing, but, yeah, it’s a THING…and has been for a while. Rosé has basically become synonymous with summertime relaxation — and hangin’ out with buds!
Why You’ve Gotta Have It
Usually, we like to Rosé all day around the pool, but enjoying one at the Food and Wine fest this year sounds even better! And bonus — this version is in slushy form! It’s still HOT over in Florida, even if the rest of the country is starting to cool off for Fall, so this is a refreshing way to “rosé all day!” Grab yours for $9! And make sure you post a few pics of yourself sippin’ it with your Rose Gold Minnie Ears, for good measure!
Donut Strawberry Smoothie
What’s On Trend?
Check out the $5 Strawberry Smoothie that Donut Box is serving up!! And holy smokes…does it have a DONUT just chillin’ out on top? YUP! This smoothie reminds us of a baby version of the extreme milkshakes we’ve been seeing throughout the parks, but this lil guy is made with almond milk making it…different? The red and white swirled straws they’re served with give us some retro classic soda shop feels for sure!
Why You’ve Gotta Have It
First of all, love the color, and second of all, love the little donut dude! But novelty value aside, the smoothie actually has a great texture and a delicious strawberry flavor! The almond milk is a nice non-dairy substitute (also super trendy) and gives the drink a smoothness without being too rich!

Frozen Coke Free-Style Machine with BOOZE!
What’s On Trend?
We’re totally obsessed with what’s happening over at Cool Wash! This booth is WAY fun with the little order form you get to fill out when choosing slushy flavors and mix-ins such as Jelly Drops, Boba Pearls, and Pop Rocks?!? But even COOLER?? The Frozen Coke Freestyle-like machine serving up customized Frozen Coke orders with BOOZE! This machine is totally on top of our 2019 Christmas Wish List, guys! You know the amazing Freestyle machines you find at lots of fast-food joints now with seemingly endless flavor options? Yea, it’s that, but for FROZEN coke and your flavor adds in…are booze. Why was this wizardry not something we knew about sooner?!
Why You’ve Gotta Have It
Sadly you can’t operate the machine yourself (a Cast Member will punch in your order for you), but this is a GAME CHANGER!!! A relatively small cup will cost you $12.00…not the best deal, but it is a cool experience none the less. You can choose from Frozen Coke with added cherry or vanilla flavor as well as Jack Daniels or spiced rum. We haven’t seen this machine before outside the parks, but we expect we will more and more! You can say you knew about it before it was super trendy and cool!

Barbecue Bloody Mary
What’s On Trend?
Bloody Marys — you either love ’em or hate ’em. We just so happen to be HUGE fans, especially when they’re LOADED UP! Much like trendy over the top milkshakes, loaded Bloody Marys are quite the Instagram hit! The $16 Refreshment Port Bloody Mary doesn’t disappoint and even has a unique twist! Its delicious secret? It’s bringin’ some serious BBQ drama to the fest!
Why You’ve Gotta Have It
You already had us at Bloody Mary, but guys, this is a Barbecue Bloody Mary! The salty, tomatoey goodness comes with — get this — a piece of smoked garlic sausage, a house-made pickle, and the cup is rimmed with MUSTARD and a barbecue spice RUB!!! It’ll cost you $16 for this drink/meal in a cup! Sure, it’s EXTRA, but most good things in life are, bb!
Duck Confit Poutine
What’s On Trend?
But that’s not the only thing that’s poppin’ off at Refreshment Port — check out the Duck Confit Poutine! Poutine is super on-trend at Disney World and beyond right now — there’s even a poutine-centric stand in Disney Springs called The Daily Poutine! Cheesy French fries aside, we’ve noticed a big trend recently in the culinary world of taking simple comfort foods and plussing them with high-end ingredients. Think of all the fancy-topped hot dogs, truffle french fries, tater tots, or gourmet topped burgers we’ve seen recently! So taking simple, Canadian comfort food and topping it with delicate confit duck? That’s money, friends!
Why You’ve Gotta Have It
The dish is popular in Canada but has spread across the world because who doesn’t love french fries doused in gravy and sprinkled with cheese curds? Then you throw some duck up in the mix, you suddenly got one superstar celebrity on your hands. For $8.49, you won’t find many other ways to enjoy confit duck drenched in ooey-gooey cheese sauce with crispy fried onions on top! Can we get the poutine to sign our autograph books, please? Just don’t let our friend Donald Duck see!
Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival is going on now through November 23rd — that’s just a little over a month left to snag some of these food trends before they go out of style (and disappear!)

Kelly Jeanne says
The Impossible Slider is FANTASTIC! I wish Disney would put that and the Steakhouse Blended Burger Slider on menus all over property. Between last year and this year, I’ve eaten 6 of each one. I found the reciepefor the Steakhouse Slider, emailed it to my Dad and told him he needed to try it. You cannot tell at all that the Impossible Slider isn’t really meat. I will say the one I’ve had so far this year was spicier than last year but still delicious.
