The Plaza de la Familia celebration is in full swing in Disney California Adventure!
Paradise Garden Grill has transformed its menu for the big fiesta and it’s currently featuring Mexican cuisine, like Tacos, Tamales, a Hibiscus-Flavored Jamaica Slush, and a souvenir cup with Mexican Hot Chocolate that is making us “un poco loco.”
The Coco Jarrito de Dante ceramic souvenir mug features decals of Dia de los Muertos Miguel, the Coco logo, and Miguel’s Xolo Alebrije (spirit guide) Dante. This mug is very similar to last year’s but this year it has all-new decals!
Guests will have the option to choose what drink they’d like with the mug.
After selecting our drink of choice, Mexican Hot Chocolate, the Cast Member advised us that she would be serving the drink in a separate cup.
When we were given the mug, it was packaged in a cardboard box filled with styrofoam and the mug itself was wrapped in plastic.
After removing it, we came to realize that this ceramic mug is pretty heavy for its small size. It’s made well, and we thought the detailing was stunning. It almost looked hand-painted!! So, we’re really hoping those decals stay on there.
Now, time to chat about the Mexican Hot Chocolate! This is a cinnamon-spiced hot chocolate topped with whipped cream. Unfortunately, we weren’t too pleased with the hot cocoa. The cinnamon flavoring was very strong and the rest of the hot chocolate flavors were sorta bland.
You can get the Coco Jarrito de Dante souvenir mug with Mexican Hot Chocolate or your beverage of choice for $13.99 before an Annual Passholder discount. Or you can snag the Mexican Hot Chocolate on its own for $3.19.
