Disneyland has been taking notes from its younger yet larger sibling, Walt Disney World, and playing around with more digital options for visitors, including paperless FastPasses.

We recently shared the news that Disneyland would be testing new FastPass kiosks in front of Tomorrowland Theater where you’ll be able to link FastPasses digitally to your phone via the Disneyland app.
Good news Disneyland folks, it’s NOW OPEN!

New signage will direct you to the three FastPass distribution centers. Despite there being only three machines for the entire land, there wasn’t a crowd and we were able to get our FastPass within a minute of arriving.

When it comes to booking, you will still only be allowed to reserve one FastPass at a time. Currently, the kiosk will only issue FastPasses for Space Mountain, Star Tours, and Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters!
To get a FastPass, you will scan your park pass (paper or mobile) at the kiosk and select which attraction you want a FastPass for. Then, you will be given a return time as normal.

When we were visiting, Cast Members were in place with handheld scanners that could also distribute FastPasses. These Cast Members are also there in case you have ANY questions. So, if you’re having a hard time figuring out this new system, don’t be afraid to ask for a bit of assistance!
It’s also super important to note that if you have the Disneyland app, a reminder automatically appears for you to remember your FastPass return time, BUT if you do not have the app, there is NO other way to remind you of your return time. So, we suggest snapping a photo of the screen!

Once you’re in your return window, you will simply scan your park ticket at the attraction’s FastPass entrance!
Overall, we found the experience super quick and easy. While it is an adjustment, we have found most of our Disneyland mobile experiences like MaxPass and Mobile Order to be very useful! We’re excited to see how this next digital step plays out in Disneyland. Are you?
